Perhaps unfair but not surprising. If Stockport lose their Football League status, they won't be back anytime soon.

Partial eclipse of the sun....very strange this morning, when I left for work, can't ever recall it being so dark at that time of day...thought it was a portent of Ragnarok.

Then it suddenly brightened....think such events affect people in strange ways...just look at some of the posts on here recently whereby seemingly rational people seem to have taken all leave of their senses.

There's been rational people on here? When? How did they get on here? This is a disgrace - mods, I demand a full inquiry!

Don't worry, we're trying to up the fucktard ratio now it's quiet. We're going to be starting a fund to pay for some forum posters from the East to start incredibly interesting, and yet completely inane, topics written in broken English and viagra links.

Keane always has and always will have the old Man United 'do i as i say cos i am from Man United' attitude.

He was a prick when he walked out on his country and done very little since.

Spent a small fortune at Ipswich....he should call it a day...made enough out the game...

They should give up now.  Howe's head has been turned.  Relationship with Bournemouth can never be the same again now.  Sadly, the should now try to focus on maximising compensation etc.

Penney's most succesful stint was at Doncaster I believe, has managed Darlington and Oldham more recently.  Think most Rovers fans will see it as an underwhelming appointment.

Think most Rovers fans will see it as an underwhelming appointment.

I suppose most Gasheads wanted Trollope out, but this is what happens.

Rovers budget is lower than ours, but you've got to compensate an outgoing management team, then pay for a new team, not cheap, so Boards look for value.

This will mean someone from the unemployed pool, who wont be too expensive and maybe can work with staff in place.

The mongs who want Wilson gone think we'll get Mourinho in his place....apart from the thisis ubermongs who want Dave Byrne.

Probably because the chairman has run out of money and Johnson has been told to sell another player, when Johnson was expecting money to spend from the sale of McLean.

Johnson isn't any better than Wilson IMO. The only difference is he's got a promotion at this level.

Title: Re: And another one gone
Post by: Bogus Dave on Monday, January 10, 2011, 21:24:30
Johnson has a better history than wilson. Took Yeovil from the conference to league one, did what wilson couldn't do and got City promoted. Also has International experience. You can argue that it's gone stale for him in recent seasons, but it had too for wilson before we got him

If, and it's a big If, we do sack wilson I would want Johnson here. West country again for him, would assume he'd be fairly happy to move back to the area.

Will be interesting to see how this news makes Fitton and co act, and whether they'll act differently. My instinct would say no, they seem like far too decent people to sling Wilson out on his ear just because Johnsons available. Have to wait and see I guess

Average manager tenure in League One 1.78 seasons. I suppose that's probably not helped because the sackings are added to by anyone who's had a good season jumping at the first sign of interest from above.

Didn't he get sacked previously?

Didn't he get sacked previously?

'Mutual consent', and the chairman slagged him off when he did leave.

This deal is probably dependent on getting players in from loan from Fergie snr.

That option can be turned off

I turned it on because I felt people shouldn't have to justify why they leave, to a mod. If they wanna go, they can go innit. (I do always hestitate when I have to confirm deletion in the back-end though. :( )

He spent sack loads to get out of our division - very over-rated manager

A few postions now being filled then, the most surprising is Darren Ferguson returning to P'Boro  - that will be the Man U youngsters we want on loan gone then.

Dean Holdsworth to Aldershot & Dougie Freedman steps up at Palace after being No 2
Well we have "special relationships" with Man City, Liverpool and Celtic, so we have no need to worry about Man U youngsters do we!!  I mean they sent us a future great in Mr Ball.

He explained his reasons on his twitter  http://twitter.com/Rich_Pullen

I was only trying to wind him up so he'd come back.

How much money is it worth to swap living in Bournemouth for Burnley?!!!!

Fuck that.

I'd have thought Burnley pay some serious $....after all they did fall out of the Prem, with a 48 mill parachute payment.  I daresay their offer to Howe made the 300-400K pa of the likes of Palace and Soton look a bit puny.

I'd imagine Howe will be able to buy a nice little place in Sandbanks if he wants.

The answer is, you buy somewhere in the Ribble Valley, about 10 miles from Burnley. Beautiful..

Don't think this is back down the thread, but Chris Powell has been appointed manager of Charlton.

Who knows could be inspired or might bomb.

Freedman appointed at Palace, again inspired or not, I think they will still be relegated and we will be playing them next season.

The Charlton fans seem absolutely delighted, would be the equivalent of us appointing Shaun Taylor as they love him. He's always come across as a really top bloke as well, so I hope he does well.

Could also be an Eddie Howe though. There's always a risk with any appointment.

So Grant out and O'Neill in at West Ham, guess that win threat was truer than many thought.

Blimey. I suppose not too surprising Grant going but didn't think O'Neil would take that sort of challenge on. Guess its been in the pipeline for a while though.

Surely O'Neil could have the Liverpool job if he wanted it?!

West Ham would be a massive step down for him.

I'd be surprised if O'Neil risked his reputation at west ham, there will be better jobs available soon enough
