Title: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: Crispy on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 13:34:09 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11684_6634497,00.html Confirmed. Title: Re: A bit harsh.. Post by: Langers on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 13:38:12 Hasnt he had all sorts of financial strains while he was there?
If not, you would of expected him to better with that squad. Title: Re: A bit harsh.. Post by: STFC-4-LIFE on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 14:46:01 Dennis Wise favourite to take over (Was at Newcastle with the Jimenez guy who has just taken them over.)
Title: Re: A bit harsh.. Post by: london_red on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 14:51:23 Bloody hell. Makes me glad our board aren't so trigger happy. Basically had the same season as us last year, they're three points off automatic places and he gets the boot.
At least it took us nearly being in the drop zone for people to start clamoring for the manager's head. Title: Re: A bit harsh.. Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 14:59:16 Rather harsh, but I suppose it is an excuse for a new board to appoint their own man
Title: Re: A bit harsh.. Post by: london_red on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 15:02:18 Ah yeah fair point. Forgot for a moment they've just been taken over. Guess that makes it a bit less surprising.
Title: Re: A bit harsh.. Post by: magicroundabout on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 15:08:54 confirmed

Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 15:42:17 The sack race seems to have come around a bit later than usual, quite a few manager vacancies about now - who's next ? Ask glos robin - he seems to be the expert!! Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: Dr Pierre Chang on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 15:45:21 Seeing as their side was taken apart in the summer with their best players leacing (much worse than it was here) - he has done very well to get them into the top 6 by signing mostly free agents.
I thought they would struggle big time this season. Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 15:49:07 Last night was a good excuse for the board to justify bringing in a manager who probably got his official CAFC tie in the post just before the new year!
Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: pauld on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 15:53:56 Last night was a good excuse for the board to justify bringing in a manager who probably got his official CAFC tie in the post just before the new year! Yup, as STFC4LIFE pointed out, Jimenez who is apparently the driving force behind the new board, was part of the Cockney Mafia setup at Newcastle with Wise, so they've probably just been waiting for an excuse to bring Wise in. Parkinson seems wildly unpopular with their fans so last night's tonking was just the excuse they neededTitle: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: adje on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 16:25:13 Its fucking scandalous-he's a good manager and some lucky team will snap him up.Good luck to him, what would we give to be in Charlton's position?
Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: DMR on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 17:01:54 I'd have him here in an instant...
Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 18:06:06 I dont think he's a good as some are making out. They had a really good team last season and to be honest a better manager would have got them up. Again this season I still think they have a half decent side. If they appoint Wise (as has been suggested) I wouldn't be surprised to see them get promotion as Wise is the sort of manager that gets teams going and gets them on good runs like he did here and when he was at Leeds as well.
Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 19:14:00 I'd have him here in an instant... Oh do fuck off. Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 19:19:41 I must admit that I've taken some minor delight from denying a Reading favourite promotion and then helping him lose his job. Sue me.
Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: Coca Fola on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 19:33:19 I like Parkinson, and if Wilson was to go any time this season I'd probably have him at the top of my list to replace him.

He would be the bottom of my list. Long ball specialist. Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 19:50:45 He would be the bottom of my list. Post by: Lumps on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 19:57:48 I'd have him here in an instant... Are you fucking mental? One decent season at Colchester; dismal 4/5 months at Hull, leaving them in the relegation zone, relegation at Charlton, and one reasonable season when they just missed out on promotion. Do you even know anything, or take the time to find out, about players or managers before you post your opinion on them? Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: walrus on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 11:11:52 Oh do fuck off. I'd rather have Andy King tbh...! Wilson does a big hairy do do all over Parkinson./ Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: magicroundabout on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 18:21:59 i've been told that he has been put on gardening leave for 6 months with the rest of his staff.

Slightly off topic but Houllier, Hodgson, Ancelloti and Grant must be treading on even thinner ice after tonight. Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 22:48:49 (Cant be arsed starting a new thread) Liverpool have got Blackburn (A), United (A, FA Cup) and Blackpool (A). If they don't win 2 of those 3 I can see Hodgson being sacked.Slightly off topic but Houllier, Hodgson, Ancelloti and Grant must be treading on even thinner ice after tonight. If they don't win 2 of those 3 I can see Hodgson being sacked. Well I definitely don't fancy their chances of getting a win against Blackburn :)Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: reeves4england on Thursday, January 6, 2011, 01:15:03 Well I definitely don't fancy their chances of getting a win against Blackburn :) Oops. Serves me right for relying on the BBC website for information! They've got United, Blackpool and Everton. Losing either of those two league games will not go down well!Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: stfcinbmth on Thursday, January 6, 2011, 10:19:31 Could be the first one

Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Thursday, January 6, 2011, 11:11:25 I agree, Ardiles
Title: Re: Phil Parkinson sacked.. Post by: Abrahammer on Thursday, January 6, 2011, 11:29:08 I suspect he has to avoid defeat at Old Trafford to keep his job, defeat to the rivals and out of the cup could be the final straw.
