As you are probably aware it's been pretty cold over the last couple of days  :); is the game likely to be called off tuesday? I hear the club want volunteers to clear the snow off the pitch on Monday.....anyone doing this? I need a game soon!

Met office forecast is looking reasonably favourable. Hopefully the snow protected against last nights frost, in which case it is game on I'd say.

Can't help out clearing the snow this time though.

I would have been there with my shovel but I have to go out to buy some curtains  :suicide:

I was thinking of heading down with a shovel, but my parents have offered to buy me things in town, and I'm too poor to refuse that kind of offer!

Anyone sad and lonely enough to go to the local football club and shovel snow off the pitch during the festive season needs to take a good long look at themselves, get a life!

Do something different, get out the house, get a bit of "exercise", spend some time with a mate or two, and make it possible to go to the footy the next night. Don't see your problem.

I'm going to bath for my mates birthday tomorrow, so If everyone could not clear the snow and ensure the game is off, that would be much appreciated.

Just got back from clearing the snow. There is a pitch inspection at 2pm, but the club say the ref has had a look in places when we were clearing it off, and the game is ON !!! (Sorry Dave)

How much does undersoil heating cost?

Probably a couple of hundred thousand to install and then over a grand a day to run......it's pretty expensive.

Every club in the PL and FL should have this paid for by the FA IMO....Blackpool for example are taking the fucking piss now

Frozen pitches aren't the only problem these days though are they - games are getting postponed now due to 'safety concerns' - conditions round the grounds etc.

Guess Fitton and all will probably weigh this up if/when redevelopment happens.

What are Blackpool supposed to do? They were promoted in May, totally unexpectedly, then had 2-3 months to build a new stand so that their ground met PL requirements. Now people are getting arsey because they didn't find time to tear the pitch up, lay an under-soil heating system and then relay the pitch - something which takes a long time, is not required by the PL, and was not considered important when everybody was saying "they'll go straight back down anyway".
