Looks fairly promising. Title: Re: Austin Update Post by: Sippo on Thursday, December 16, 2010, 21:31:48 If a bigger club comes in for him, who realistically has a chance for playing first team football for, he'll go.
It's natural career progression. It's simply a fact of who and when. Title: Re: Austin Update Post by: crystall Tips on Thursday, December 16, 2010, 21:53:26 this sounds like the Telegraph being late in picking up something that was doing the rounds a few months ago
then it all went quiet Title: Re: Austin Update Post by: leefer on Thursday, December 16, 2010, 21:56:05 Well if you believe The Telegraph....he is close to a new deal :girlgiggle:
Title: Re: Austin Update Post by: Sippo on Thursday, December 16, 2010, 21:59:28 He may sign a new deal, doesn't mean he won't leave.

True, but the longer he is under contract for, the better the deal is likely to be for us when we sell him. Title: Re: Austin Update Post by: london_red on Friday, December 17, 2010, 08:26:06 this sounds like the Telegraph being late in picking up something that was doing the rounds a few months ago then it all went quiet In fairness they are quoting him off the football league podcast which was only out the other day. (Its here - http://www.football-league.co.uk/latestnews/20101215/podcast-episode-20_2245681_2244597 (http://www.football-league.co.uk/latestnews/20101215/podcast-episode-20_2245681_2244597) - if you want to listen) Personally i see the Austin situation playing out a bit like it did with Cox. We have him under contract for another year and a half anyway, so are under no pressure to sell immediately. So he signs a one year extension (with a big pay rise of course) stays to the end of the season scoring bags of goals and then goes in the summer. Charlie gets to earn a bit more for the next six months and continue to enhance his reputation, and consequently maybe the quality of club that wants to sign him. We get his goals for any sort of push we make in the second half of the season, probably get a better price for him than we would in January and then have more time to invest the transfer fee in replacing Austin/strengthening the squad. Exactly. Title: Re: Austin Update Post by: Mailman44 on Sunday, December 19, 2010, 01:19:24 Been thinking about this a lot lately. I think as entioned above, he'll sign the new contract, stay til the end of the season and we will sell him at a great price with a 25% sell on clause. Good deal for this wonderful club and a great lad.
