Please god no.

Although my housemate is Torquay and reckons we could do worse.

Can't be any worse than Pericard and Dossevi.

This should stop our leaky back-line... oh.

We've had a bit of joy from Torquay signings in the past....John Smith, Kenny Allen, Phil King spring to mind so wouldn't be adverse.

Probably bullshit mind....can't see D and R affording 40K and Sarfend are mega fucked.

He's highly rated there. Didn't go to the game here in the JPT but he played. Any thoughts from anyone that went? This to me though (if true) seems like we're already resigned to losing Austin in January.

Went through early on in the game after a mistake then didn't get a sniff, looked quite a small lad so would imagine he'd need a big guy next to him.

Are we resigned to losing Austin or resigned to losing Pericard? Thought his deal was out in January?

Who was it who laughed at me when I suggested we might be in for him last week. Own up...

Proven goalscorer in lower leagues, probably could do worse I guess.

We will only move for him if Charlie goes IMO.

second best striker in league two in my book would add some pace upfront aswell

Not really. People are divided on VP and Dossevi at best, I'd be more tempted to look on it as strengthening.

Maybe being viewed as a decent partner for Charlie

He's scored about 30 goals in his entire pro career so not sure how you've come to that conclusion!

35 goals in 118 appearances, that works out at 1 goal in every 3 games, not a bad return at all from less than 120 games, about 30 of those appearances were as a sub.

A far better return goals per game than Paynter (38 goals in 190 games) was when he signed for us.

parkins was 12 in 62 before he joined us

I'm pretty sure that all of Paynters appearances/goals would have been at a higher level though to be fair.

Crawley and Torquay, presumably most of his goals are non-league though.

My point is if we're gonna get in excess of a million for Charlie, this is not the calibre of playing we should be looking at.

Who's the best?

I think that is a crafty bit of editing, its not on any official sources.

From what I've seen of Benyon he's alright if a little unremarkable, only started scoring regularly recently I think. Small quick lad with a good work rate. Never excelled against us so I've probably not seen the best of him.

Le Fondre, I'd say Marc Richards of Vale is up there

Cant believe Rotherham  have managed to keep hold of him for so long. It can only give us hope of keeping hold of Charlie for a while longer.

Good shout, Le Fondre is head and shoulders above everyone else in this division.

Richards didn't do much for Vale against us, and we had Davies with us for a bit - he's quite hit and miss, and thankfully did a lot of missing the other night.
