Title: Football Manager 2011 Post by: Chubbs on Saturday, October 30, 2010, 10:57:37 Thought i'd start a new one for this.
The Demo has been out a while now, what does everyone think? I have allready done my 1/2 season with swindon which i am top of the league, waiting for the game to be released so i can carry on. Im currently having a play around with Man City and have just found a very handy tool. The "interact with board" button when you have no transfer funds left. I've just spent 90 odd mil on new players and have ran out of transfer funds. My scout pops up saying that Fabregas would be a signing of the highest calliber. But i have no money, Not a problem, i used the "interact with board" button saying i think signing cesc would help me achieve my goals, they said no at first but i persisted and they aggreed. Next think i know the board take matters into their own hands and end up signing fabregas for me for 84mil. Love it. Im quite enjoying the game as a whole. I'll post up some decent players i've found soon Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: Chubbs on Saturday, October 30, 2010, 10:59:25 One thing i have found very annoying is thats its impossible getting rid off players. I just cant get rid of the likes of bridge, lescott, santa cruz, SWP for shit. I've even offered them to clubs for 1m each and not one club will make a bit, They are just hogging up shit load of wages.
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: walrus on Saturday, October 30, 2010, 11:53:42 I've lost the love. Desperately trying to recapture my addiction to the game, but just cannot get into the demo at the moment. Started with Man City but haven't even been able to motivate myself to play past pre-season....
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: jutty274 on Saturday, October 30, 2010, 13:36:08 If you play as Man City play Alex Henshall and the town get £500,000.
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: stfc1969 on Saturday, October 30, 2010, 13:38:55 i signed cox for 5 mill and got swindon 20%
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: jb on Saturday, October 30, 2010, 13:45:48 i signed cox for 5 mill and got swindon 20% :DTitle: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: stfc1969 on Saturday, October 30, 2010, 13:49:10 :D completed my first half of the season as swindon was first for most of it then dossevi and douglas got injured for quite a long time and we dropped four places
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: jb on Saturday, October 30, 2010, 13:50:29 Dossevi is shit hot isnt he. Its nice to play FM and Swindon are actually decent for once!!
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, November 1, 2010, 11:40:03 Proving with doubt that Football Manager is a load of bollocks!
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: Jean-Francois is God on Monday, November 1, 2010, 11:53:54 You are talking bollocks.
I played a bit of FM2010 last night and in my second season at the helm of Swindon I managed to somehow get a 2-1 win at Middlesbrough thanks to goals from Nathan Tyson and Michael Timlin but then got dicked 1-0 by Coventry at a capacity County Ground. In my first season I won promotion after finishing 2nd and I won the JPT. And some people say this game is not realistic. Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: Crispy on Monday, November 1, 2010, 11:57:51 Got an awesome game on FM2010 where its all the UK teams combined in to 8 leagues, due to this i cant stop playing it to play the demo!
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: Peter Venkman on Monday, November 1, 2010, 16:43:19 I like the improvements but still cannot get any formation working except the bog standard 4-4-2.
The interaction is a big improvement but really need a good attacking formation, I dont let many goals in but dont score many either. How do you do that? O'Brien, Dossevi and Myrie-Williams all play well for me there. Charlie/Koroma through the middle. You can vary the width/tempo/defensive line with it to suit other teams. You can control and contain games quite well with 4-5-1 and I do seem to score a fair few goals. Trying that now, its one of the systems I havent used so far so lets see.....Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: Peter Venkman on Monday, November 1, 2010, 19:01:36 Well 2 games into the new 4-5-1 and both home games I beat Sheff Weds 3-1 and beat Dag & Red 1-0 with Corrie Evans being sent off early in the game, all I did was play an attacking game and didn't change any other settings on the tactic, seems to be working so far, watch this space....

Lucas, Cuthbert, Austin, O'Brien, Douglas and Ferry all have told me they dont like my style of management! and I am currently sitting in 12th place after 18 games!
Going to try some new stuff tactics wise as the board keep saying that The Swindon Town hierarchy appear to be losing patience with me! I may even get the sack before the 6 month demo is over! Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: Chubbs on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, 12:47:47 I went unbeaten with town using a 4-4-2 up until the start of december.
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: Peter Venkman on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, 13:03:09 I started off 4-4-2 and won 5 games in a row, then I lost 4 in a row, then I changed to 4-5-1 and won 3 games in a row then I lost 5 in a row then I changed to a 4-3-1-2 narrow width formation and have won 4 games in a row and drew the last 1 of the 1/2 season.
Got through to the 4th round of the League Cup beating Everton away, Bolton home on the way, area semis of the JPT and qualified for the 3rd round of the FA cup. Talk about fickle results! I never brought any player in after the 1st game of the season either so I worked with the squad I had after making a few pre season signings of frees and loan players. My 1st experience is that when you are down it kicks you in the balls and when you are up you are really on an up, its almost like when you have lost a game or 2 then change the formation and you can get back onto winning ways again. I finished 12th scored 33 and let in 29 with 11 wins, 1 draw and 10 defeats. Talk about up and down! Signed Adam Bogdan, Corrie Evans and Jose Baxter on loan and signed Derek Geary, Ben Thatcher, Sam Sodje, Andy Butler, Rui Marques (awful) Chris James(5 goals in 18), James Ashmore, Eddie Johnson, David Foley(5 goals in 9) and Ngo Baheng(9 goals in 20). Couldn't get Austin playing well but Dossevi hit some good form averaging 7.17 and scoring 6 goals. Will try again from afresh with a few better loan signings, maybe Bebe and getting in Koroma and Steve Howard in maybe. Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: BelfastRobin on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, 14:22:29 Bebe has been a star for me. Adriano Basso is available on a free too. Felt bad about signing him, but he is leading star Championship. Sodje and Alexandro Silva have been great on frees too. Other good loan players are Adam Clayton, Jordan Spence and Simon Church/ Just signed Koroma up front and he's got 4 in 3 games.
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: Peter Venkman on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, 14:59:10 Simon Church refused to sign on loan for a rival in my game.
Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: BelfastRobin on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, 16:10:56 Simon Church refused to sign on loan for a rival in my game. He refuses at the start of the season but if he ain't gettin game time at Reading then he'll come...usually around November. Title: Re: Football Manager 2011 Post by: Peter Venkman on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, 16:25:42 He refuses at the start of the season but if he ain't gettin game time at Reading then he'll come...usually around November. Ah that makes sense as I tried before the season started. Started a new 6 month game to see how it pans out with a few of the mentioned signings and going for the 4-3-1-2 narrow width from the start. |
