There are some faithful, for whom being an STFC fan is more a way of life, the relative merits of the result, or the formation played, just a sideshow in the bigger picture.

 An endangered species for sure....

This website is awesome. Didn't realise David Preece had died.. sad news..I can remember thinking he was decent when he was on loan at us.

Sad to see the tittle-tattle about players' private lives creeps in even on this worthy site:

(Only joking, it's an excellent site, well-researched and well worth a look)

...They decided to call it the Swindon Association Football Club, but they found the name rather a mouthful to shout out, so they changed the name to the Spartans.

Doesn't this sound a good deal better than the Robins? Genuine club history, no confusion with Brizzle/Cheltnumb, and what use is a nickname that no fan ever uses?  Of course, would involve a slight redesign of the club badge...

Pfft, like the station announcer tells you about things like changes, he's too concerned about the buffet service. Which isn't even a buffet as you have to pay per item. Bastard.

Also, obvious 300 reference for the Spartans, get with the yoof culture already.
