We got a couple of decent results on the back of the Southampton game so I think it could be good for our league form if we're doing well in this competition.

Certainly I'm in no rush to go back to Wembley....but if we did get there and generate some interest and income then surely that has to be a good thing.

Another home draw so im happy with that, I would go back to wembley if we got there and like reg said it can only be a good thing for the club.

Whilst I agree about how shit Wembley was and how I don't want to go back there a decent run in this comp is by no means no bad thing. As Si said it can help with league form as well. Saints struggled at the start of last season then got a run going in this and started winning games left right and centre in the league as well. It just gives everyone at the club a lift and could be what we need really as long as we don't lose focus on winning league games as well.

Pleased with this draw as it's a home game and Brentford have been pretty poor thus far. In saying that they always seem to beat us in cup competitions.

Can't say i'm looking forward to another game at Wembley if like in May, we don't bother turning up, fans and players.

Can't believe people are saying that a match at Wembley is no big deal to them.....granted the atmosphere was shit v Millwall................so lets get to this final get our heads together and make sure our next appearance there is more memorable,good draw and would love to make the final.

Agree about making it a better day out if we get there again some time soon. I don't want to resurrect this summer's debate, but there are things that can be done to encourage a better atmosphere and hopefully the board would recognise that and take action.

Our league form is very patchy and this is exactly the sort of game that keeps the season going.

Chances are you will get a 2 legged southern final against a local rival, so its always going to be a lively game.

Wembley was crap last time. But if we go next time we'll probably take less fans. The hardcore  fans will be able to organise themselves a bit better and create a decent atmosphere. I guess the ticket prices for the JPT final are also a lot more reasonable?

I actually think that the weather (pissing down/cold) had a lot to do with the shit atmosphere. But the paint pot trophy final is even more likely to have bad weather earlier in the season.

Usually rain helps the atmosphere because more people stand up.

One example I can think of would have been the home league game against QPR 2003. Pissed it down, superb atmosphere.

If we ever get to a final again, we should organise ourselves better. Try and pick one area for everyone who wants to stand and sing and get tickets at the same time.

Wembley is a shoite stadium the accoustics are all wrong its an events venue more than a football ground, sounds like a swimming baths. It summed up the detached experience of being a modern football fan. Contrast that to charlton away that night and you've got the two ends of the football supporter scale. New wembley attracts the wrong end, the end which are killing football.

Its one of the factors for our lack of vocal support, you get the same thirty thousand and cram them into one half of villa park or somewhere (shed ten thousand of them first) and you have an entirely different football experience. As it was we were in a fucking oversized school sports hall or something.
