Any of your lot up in Edinburgh for Monday night's Sky TV extravaganza may like to know that the "Scottish gas" (bunch of middle aged old farts who will be using it as an excuse to avoid childcare for the night, in the main!) will be meeting up in Sportsters bar behind Waverley.

Any of you who've managed to negotiate the roundabouts, escape Wiltshire's cultural capital & find yourself handy to Edinburgh are welcome to join us for the beer & banter (as long as your not a nobhead obviously and not offended by the sight of an OUFC fan who's coming along just because he hates you!)

We're not on telly as much as you so it's quite big deal for us to be on sky even though we're always cack when we're on it so few of us may be about.

May the best team win(as long as they're in quarters!)

Well the six points last year dropped v Gas killed us.

he might as well though, us vs gas will be a good game for another rival to watch and if he's mates with the gasheads up there then there's no reason for him not to watch it is there?  I suppose it might be a toss up between Swindon on monday or England on Tuesday...

I love Edinburgh, my favourite British city. Won't be there Monday though unfortunately. We don't really get on Sky that much to be fair, being in the play offs last season obviously gave us three extra games but other than that our tv appearances are about as rare as the perverbial hens' teeth.

As leefer said, we certainly owe you one. 0-4 at home and 0-3 away last season was unbelieveable. I wasn't there but from what I can gather we actually played quite well in the 0-4 game. As you probably know but as I like to tell any Gashead I come accross anyway, your manager is a life long Swindon fan  :nod:

I predict he may well  manage you one day as well - probably after our "we're a sleeping giant" fans hound him out after getting us out  oif the hell of lge2 & established in Lge1. There is a sizeable proportion of gas who want him out  now despite being top 10 because the football's not exciting enough! Lge 1 the home of free flowing football - some people need to  play  less FIFA & remember who they support (or just  feck off &  support man U!)

You would have thought they would know the kick off had changed seeing as they are the ones who have changed it?

Yep...the monday match last season v Exeter was THE match..........feel if we had won that maybe would have got automatic........ifs and onlys.

At the time our fans didnt want automatic. They wanted to go to Wembley.

Dumb but true. I was one of the ones that wanted to relive the play off final against Leicester. How did it all go so wrong  :(

I sure as hell wanted automatic. With the teams up there last season there was no guarantee at all that we would even get to Wembley let alone win the play-offs.

Bugger all chance I wanted to go up via Wembley. I was happy to beat Millwall away. hope Leeds didn't win, take my slapping and wake up a Division higher.

But when the Wycombe game was in the balance you could sense that people werent that bothered because they wanted the play offs.

If you look back to April on here you will see plenty of Town fans saying they wanted the play offs rather than automatic. The fools.

I'm in Edinburgh and will be watching it in the Shakespeare on Lothian Road.  Accompanied by a couple of my caledonian buddies who came to Wembley with me..

You are welcome to join us up at sportsters. We're meeting there so it's easier for out of towners to get in & back out  again. Shakespeare always used to be rough as fuck not been there in well over a decade - guess it should be quiet enough on a monday.

touche Paul! Perhaps meek, mindless or minus midfielders would've been more appropriate. Still it was an  entertaining watch  & I really thought we were going to batter you for the first 20 minutes. Confound you &  your tactically  aware manager who sneakily uses the subs at his disposal to change the game in such  an underhand way - it'll never catch on you know!

Just  as an  aside,  did any of your lot see any  contact with Lines for the  penalty - sure as hell  didn't on the telly. 2-1 gave the result an  air of respectability whereas I thought it  could've been a cricket score midway thru the 2nd half. Still Mr trollope changes nothing -you don't want him back  do you?
