No ambition, we need a new CB, we need a new striker, why haven't we signed Messi? We're going down, Wilson & Fitton out.

(I think that covers everything)

why is it that we find it so difficult to bring in loans this season? It has been obvious that we have needed striker and defensive cover for weeks. Pray that cuthbert is fit for monday as the idea of amankwaah at centre half terrifies me,every time we play rovers and he gets barracked by the fans he falls to pieces, playing out of position will be worse, fear rovers will be a cricket score. If the club are serious about promotion we must have strength in depth and balance in all areas

Knew it wouldn't be long. Why do people think it's a case of saying who you want and they'll come? There are dozens of factors to work on even for a short term deal.

No, it's simply a lack of ambition and pure laziness on our part. Fitton and Wilson have been sat round drinking champagne and eating foie gras on those little tiny bits of toast that posh folk like while playing their advance copy of FIFA 11. Instead of trying to sign any one of the dozens of new Ronaldos, Rios and Stevie Gs that are just lining up to play in League One for a month. If only they'd get off their butts we'd definitely be promoted; as it is, it's a real concern that every single season ticket holder will have their houses repossessed and have to live in margarine tubs. Do you really think that's good enough, Fitton? Do you? Do you?

Again though this gets on my tits people having a pop ecause our fans are pissed off. It wasn't us who came out and said we now got great links with City,Liverpool etc i thought we were getting rid of our youngsters so when we had times like this they would step in and loan us players,

I understand they have been working hard and our struggling but it boils down to the same thing just shut the fuck up and stop telling us we are close to getting players etc

That's not the point.

If somebody like yourself or others posters said something then that's fair enough, whereas others have nothing positive to say........ ever.

My first post was clearly sarcastic yet low and behold who should post immediately after I did?

Actually playing Amankwaah at Centre Back against Joe Kuffors pace might not be a bad idea!

He tore us apart last season and Morrison and Cuthbert arent the quickest.

As much as the negativity is tiresome, so are the sarcastic comments that seem to go hand in hand with them.

How dare we not be happy with our squad and performance this season. It not like we are performing well below the expectation levels both Wilson and Fitton set publicly in pre-season.

If people act in person like some do no here, then I would literally tell them to fuck of because I would not want their company. I would not drink with them, go to football with them or socialise with them in any way. Due to the nature of the internet that isn't possible and so as long as we have to suffer the eternal negativity from the same old people over and over then then there will be loads of sarcasm.

This time round there was the added irony of Bart posting literally seconds after I did. The twat even complained after a win the other day. Not a positive word, after a win..... what a cunt. If this was my forum I'd ban the cunt, seriously I would. not just because of his incessant negativity but also because of the trollish manner in which he dumps some negative crap and then logs off. Imagine having that sat at your table in the pub, fuck that shit.

Criticism is fine and somebody like me finds it valuable but some people, you included, take it WAY too fucking far.

Apart from the bit about rovers being a cricket score he's right. Fitton and wilson have been shooting their mouths off about signing players and improving on last season and, albeit we're only in october, they so far haven't delivered.

After 14 games, didn't we have 19 points last season?  I'd say, provided we deliver in the next couple, there is every chance we can at least match that.

Our top scorer has been missing the past couple of games and this time last year we were still searching around for the right players to come in.

I think we are little more open this season, so look less sure of ourselves under pressure, but a but more attack minded than the same point last year.  The trick will be to get the defence consistent while keeping the approach we managed Jan to April last year to attack.  If we can get the right player or two in, get Austin back, I see no reason for the season to pan out in a similar way to the last.  Top 6 would be fine by me.

12 months ago we had 18 points. I know last season proved things can change, but it's an awful lot of faith to expect things to pan out the same way again.

Whereas it's an awful lack of faith to claim we are doomed already!

Anyway, I disagree with the faith remark. A couple of results and we are right back up there again.

I'm not saying we're doomed, far from it. But our last three games are stereotypical of a mid-table side. I'm not saying we won't improve (there's a long way to go yet), but i'm afraid i don't share the same optimism as others

The league is a lot less consistent this season. We're only a few points off the play offs despite some bad results. That's the positive we need to take.

Fuck that, I'm not going on faith. I want hard scientific proof, with diagrams and evidence and stuff.

Lewis Grabban just gone to Brentford on loan, could have done a job for us

I thought Haynes was a regular at City, he'd give us something different and inject some much needed pace into the side. Would be a good signing but likely to be lots of interest in him.

It's frustrating we're still looking for replacements, but I suppose it's better to wait for the right player than sign the first option that comes available. Hopefully be some activity sooner rather than later.

The club deserves a bit of slack at this moment in time because of our inconsistencies on the pitch. It's frustrating not knowing "which Town will turn up" and we all know that.

I would say that we don't know the full facts... For all we know, a player could have been en route to the CG before the plug was pulled.

Also, I still think it's good that DW won't bring in any Tom, Dick or Harry... Without doubt we need bodies but we shouldn't just be bringing any old 18 year old rookie from a team Spurs for the sake of it.

TEF is 24/7 and yet some people only feel the need to contribute when the going is not-so-good or to throw a bit of pessimism our way if the going is good! That irks me a bit but these folk probably go week in/week out so that's their right I suppose... Still tedious though :)

Old Bart's form from a couple of years ago earned him a repuation on here so even when he makes a valid point now it's rubbished as typical Bart doom and gloom.
Sunrise/Sunset...

Fair enough Rich but the club has known before the play off final that Paynter was going...leaving just Austin as a proven striker.....agree that bringing any old person in wont help but the money from Cox and Greer we got....well maybe a fraction of it could have bought us a proven striker...we really do need one to help out..........its not easy i know but the board need to gamble a little with hard cash i feel.
Pericard is starting to shine but he alone wont be enough even when Austin returns.

The problem is the board can't gamble with hard cash as the deadline has gone and you can't sign permanent signings until January again.  We are trying to secure a proven loan striker so it makes it all the harder.  I am happy that Danny isn't settling for a Hutchinson or Revell and is instead holding out for players of the quality of Haynes and Healy who would both be excellent additions to the team.

Fair play. My bad. Both would be ideal, yes best to hold out for players like that.
