Title: Copyright Infringement? Post by: Crispy on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 11:51:48 Just got this on youtube..
http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x180/sp0k3y/copyright.png I recorded and uploaded the video myself.. Hows that an infringement? Title: Re: Copyright Infringement? Post by: pauld on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 11:54:49 FL have rights to all footage shot within grounds during matches. That's why there's bloody big notices on all grounds saying you're not allowed to take pictures. Which, clearly, no-one takes any notice of. I'd guess you've caught their attention because you posted it on YouTube and so are "rivalling" their own highlights deals (e.g. XXXWorld is arranged centrally through the FL)
Title: Re: Copyright Infringement? Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 11:55:15 Because The Football League Limited own the broadcasting rights to all Football League games.

Post by: 1989Monkey on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 11:56:23 Submit a counter notification. There are millions of videos on youtube from people inside the ground videoing the games etc. The whole of the TEF won't let Crispy go to jail! Well most of us wont :)
Title: Re: Copyright Infringement? Post by: Batch on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 11:56:25 Because you don't have the rights to record and publically "broacast" (via youtube) football league games.
It may seem like a different thing, but imagine if ITV thought "sod it, we'll just put a football league show on too". BBC wouldn't be best pleased. Well its part of the same law even though it is indeed petty and won't make the slightest difference to the copyright holder in the long term. Hell, you aren't even allowed to publish the fixture lists publically without paying the fees! Title: Re: Copyright Infringement? Post by: pauld on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 11:58:01 imagine if ITV thought "sod it, we'll just put a football league show on too" Given the piss-poor effort they made last time they had the highlights rights, I think you've just summarised entirely the whole of the creative process that went into putting that togetherTitle: Re: Copyright Infringement? Post by: Crispy on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 11:58:20 So, if i recorded the floor and only had the singing for example that would be okay since there isn't any of the match in the video?

Which part of all footage shot inside the ground are we struggling with exactly?Title: Re: Copyright Infringement? Post by: nevillew on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 12:01:12 Which part of all footage shot inside the ground are we struggling with exactly? Perhaps 'footage' should be 'metreage' these days ? Title: Re: Copyright Infringement? Post by: Crispy on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 12:01:21 Which part of all footage shot inside the ground are we struggling with exactly? The part that says 'football league games' not 'football league stairs' Fuck em, there will be Torquay videos on tonight. Title: Re: Copyright Infringement? I thought that was your usual approach. Title: Re: Copyright Infringement? I suppose F1 was OK, but they came up with a plan to ruin that by putting in adverts at the wrong time. Title: Re: Copyright Infringement? If you avoid using any of the keywords the Football League search for in the title and tags (club names, competition names etc), the chances of them finding them in the future will be greatly reduced. It will mean naming it something random but you can link to it to get people viewing it, plus they might subscribe to you on YouTube. Title: Re: Copyright Infringement? Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 12:33:45 Crispy, you know there's an "unlisted" option when you upload to Youtube now? i.e. it won't show up in a public search.
