Title: Croydon Chairman shot dead Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, October 4, 2010, 10:25:25 Not exactly exciting news, but interestingly one of the members on the board - Mazhar Majeed apparently had links to some cricket match fixing dealings (not sure if this is the Pakistan nonsense)

Papers have it down as suicide but who knows. Title: Re: Croydon Chairman shot dead Post by: pauld on Monday, October 4, 2010, 10:50:12 Allegedly, one of the bits the NOTW got on tape was the owner saying he'd only bought the club to launder money from betting scams. On the positive side, I think the journo in question was trying to be amusing, just read the following quote from the article, it's golden... Croydon Athletic chairman David Le Cluse was discovered with gunshot wounds in a garage in Wallington on Saturday morning. Police are investigating the 44-year-old's death which they are currently treating as "unexplained" Title: Re: Croydon Chairman shot dead Post by: otanswell on Monday, October 4, 2010, 20:03:46 Anyone remember ex town player Austin berkely?
