Two games in the Town End for £24!

Swindon Town have launched a great ticket offer for supporters wishing to attend the next two home games.

Huddersfield Town are the visitors this Saturday 25th September (3pm ko) before Plymouth Argyle are in Town next Tuesday 28th September (7.45pm ko).

With two games in close proximity, fans have the chance to attend both for one great price!

In all honesty though, many of us keep missing club announcements, so a little publicity might be good.

I wasn't knocking it Bazza, the more publicity promotions like this get, the people will come to the games (Hopefully).

Know for a fact that the Q a A in the Winners wasn't advertised well.
A poor turnout last night apparently....i for one may have popped along if i knew it was on.

The problem the club face s how to advertise in a cost effective way beyond press releases and the official site and e-mails.  I'd imagine Heart will set the club back a minimum order of a couple of grand, based on £30-£40 per spot for one station in the group.  Given the ticket offer would need hundreds of extra purchases just to justify the spend and you can see it's a tough one.  If you consider the audience they'd cover, it's not massive, certainly not big enough for one off small purchase offers.  It only really works when you are trying to get big spend or you are regional/national company selling in volume.


The Adver probably charge several hundred per ad, and you'd need a good sized one carried over lots of days to really make some impact.

Web advertising is very difficult for them, forums are inhabitted by those that go, where else can you get possible attendees without having ads everywhere?

I think for Season ticket offers some of these media can work, but a one off deal for a game is a tough one to cover costs on.

No, I'm doing it for free. I love the club and feel it's helping where I can. It doesn't increase my costs in any way, so I don't mind.


Which is exactly what has prompted me to start promoting everything. I was quite gutted about last night and decided I would do what I can to help. 

Which I commend you for, but a little contribution towards the running of the tef. Especially with the adidas/fifa part.

I feel quite good about about helping where I can, however token it may be. I wouldn't accept payment; it just wouldn't sit right with me however bizarre that sounds. :)

Will you stop being so sensible? You used to wear silly hats and say daft things to get in the Adver to promote certain supporters' groups.

Its a great idea, agree about the advertising costs point though. But this one is surely aimed at existing supporters anyway. (that and season ticket holders to bring a +1 along)

I didn't see it advertised anywhere and knew nothing about it until today.  I know a few people who would have gone if we'd known.  I don't understand why the Advertiser can't do a bit more publicity for things like this and ticket deals.  Doesn't half to be a half page spread just a brief article in the sports section?

Bazza, I appreciate your efforts to help out the club with a bit of free advertising, but is there any way you can make the announcements box collapsible?

For purely selfish reasons, it makes it even harder to me to try and browse the forum inconspicuously whilst at work when there's a massive banner splashed across the screen everytime I go to the home page.
