Post by: Sippo on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 17:28:11
How is Easy is it to get a train from brum new street to the bescott and back on Saturday?
Any ideas how much and is it best to buy tickets before or will it be ok to get there?

It's an easy trip as the station is right next to the ground. The cheapest you'll get now will be with a groupsaver. You're better off buying in advance but think you can buy a groupsave 4 anytime.

Trains from Brum run every 15-20 mins to Walsall and cost only £2.70 for a single.

Many others going to this? How many do you reckon we'll take?

I find Walsall's ground really wierd, that huge stand just makes everything look out of proportion.

You cant use the group savers on the cross country services.

If youve got 3 mates and youre prepared to take 3 hours to get up there, you can do it for £9.10 each. (Split the ticket at Worcester).

Off-peak return was only £3.20 from New Street when I went last season (bought on the day).

No, because they don't have concourses.

The pub's only a 5 minute walk around the corner.

Tiny little hut in the corner selling bovril is about it from memory.  Pretty shitty ground.
