Title: Milner? Post by: leefer on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 20:46:28 Am i alone in thinking he is fast becoming one of the best players in world football.
In my opinion if he stays injury free for the next few years he really could become a great in the game. Was brilliant tonight..his temperament and workrate is superb and for me he could go on to be one of the best. Title: Re: Milner? Post by: LucienSanchez on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 20:48:04 For me, he'd be the first name down in my England midfield.
Title: Re: Milner? Post by: Panda Paws on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 20:49:08 Personally think Adam Johnson on the other side has as much if not more potential, but boyh are a step up from our wide options of recent times and should form the main stay of the midfield for the next couple of WC cycles.

Indeed. I know Dave has been calling for Adam Johnson for England on here for a while now and you can see why. Always seems to cause no end of problems for the opposition. Title: Re: Milner? This. Both are quality. Johnson seems to get better by the game. Title: Re: Milner? Post by: dell boy on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 07:36:26 Milner is so consistent and just keeps improving. He will never be superstar class because he lacks real pace.

Post by: wacko on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 10:12:53 The guy never seems to have a bad game and can play any position he is asked to to a good standard its ashame there arent more players like him in our England squad.
Title: Re: Milner? Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 10:23:03 Watching England now, compared to watching England at the World Cup is like watching Pat from Eastenders present 'This Morning' compared to watching Holly Willoughby presenting 'This Morning'.
Title: Re: Milner? Post by: Abrahammer on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 11:01:41 Fully expect England to finish group with 100% record while looking world class and then let us all down as normal during the Euro's.
Milner is really starting to come on at international level but as others have said the potential of Adam Johnson is pretty damm exciting. Title: Re: Milner? You can get 11/2 for England to have a 100% record in qualifiers with William Hill. You can have 7/1 with me if you want. Title: Re: Milner? Post by: Summerof69 on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 12:09:34 Isn't it ironic that we get a naturally left footed player...and he plays on the right of midfield.
The current 2 performances are a breath of fresh air compared to the shite in the summer, but with the realisation that Capello will bring back in Ferdinand and co., when they don't deserve to. With Milner suspended for the next game, I'd put Johnson on the left, with Theo on the right, and see how they do. Title: Re: Milner? I'd bet money that Gerrard ends up on the left though with Fat Frank coming back in. Title: Re: Milner? Bugger me thats a good price, last night was the hardest game on paper IMO. Title: Re: Milner? With Milner suspended for the next game, I'd put Johnson on the left, with Theo on the right, and see how they do. I'd be tempted to put Shaun Wright Phillips on the right. He played really well when he came on yesterday. Agree about johnson on the left, he can't do much more than he has. Title: Re: Milner? Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 18:31:27 Capello seriously can't start Lampard and Ferdinand next game... i can maybe understand Terry in for Dawson/Lescott.

Agree about johnson on the left, he can't do much more than he has. Seriously?! He was dreadful... Title: Re: Milner? Post by: Panda Paws on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 18:35:53 Surely, presuming Walcott is fit, Adam Johnson just replaces the suspended Milner, and Terry comes in alongside Jags? Why make any other changes?
Title: Re: Milner? Post by: chalkies_shorts on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 18:36:26 My judgement may have been clouded by the fact I was sober but I thuoght he gave us a useful outlet last night.
Title: Re: Milner? Post by: bigbobjoylove on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 18:53:39 Would rather we gave that young Villa winger (Albrighton?) a game rather than Wright-Phillips.
Title: Re: Milner? Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 18:57:25 If Walcott is injured, i'd have Young on the left and Johnson on the right.

Post by: adje on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 19:29:39 Terry must never darken England's door ever ever again and Lampard and Ferdinand for that matter.Jagielka and Cahill/Lescott must be given a chance to cement their partnership.Midfield is working far better without Lampard.
Title: Re: Milner? Post by: Bennett on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 19:44:27 If Walcott is injured, i'd have Young on the left and Johnson on the right. i concurTitle: Re: Milner? You obviously missed the 2 on 1 situation, where all he had to do was square the ball to Bent at he had a tap in. SWP passed it to the only Swiss defended which made me post : SWP is shite. He was shite also at the World Cup, and Johnson has proved over the last week that he should've gone in the first place. Title: Re: Milner? Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 20:07:12 I'd rather give any other English player a game than Wright fucking Phillips. Think Capello only put SWP on so that we could laugh at an England side having 6 Man City players in it......Micah Richards must have done something really really bad. Title: Re: Milner?
