Title: Wendies into admin? Post by: pauld on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 11:07:18 Sheff Wed have 24 hrs to find £1.1m (unpaid tax bill) or could go into admin in next 24 hours according to Beeb
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sheff_wed/8976096.stm Good job they didn't spend loads of money on players over the summer or that would look like profligacy. Oh. Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: Batch on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 11:15:27 We wouldn't be bottom of the league if they go into admin before Saturday.
Erm, I mean I wish them well. Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 11:24:43 Haha fucking twats
Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: RJack on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 12:17:56 To be fair most Wednesday fans i know are an alright bunch of people. I wouldn't wish admin on anyone to be honest not even our yellow counterparts down the road.
Also most of Wednesday's summer signings were free transfers. Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: pauld on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 12:33:15 To be fair most Wednesday fans i know are an alright bunch of people. No-one said any different - not the fans' fault the board have mismanaged the finances, not at Wednesday, nor Cardiff, nor Pompey, nor Saints, nor Southend, nor here a few years back.Quote Also most of Wednesday's summer signings were free transfers. Some but by no means all. And those that were - they playing for the love of it then? Just because club makes a load of free signings, doesn't mean they're not pushing the boat out financiallyTitle: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: RJack on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 12:49:55 Some are probably on a better wage than our players but i would imagine not by much. Isn't a wage cap in League One?
Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: Summerof69 on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 13:48:30 Isn't a wage cap in League One? I believe the wage cap only applies in League Two. Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: pauld on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 15:17:23 Some are probably on a better wage than our players but i would imagine not by much. Isn't a wage cap in League One? No and in any case that's immaterial as we have a board who are prepared to, and capable of, putting in money for the right players while ensuring the bills are still paid. Wendies manifestly do notTitle: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 15:59:23 To be fair most Wednesday fans i know are an alright bunch of people. Their superiority complex isn't in the same league as Leeds or Oxfrod, but it is there. Perhaps coming back down so soon may have given them pause for thought..... Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: Processed Beats on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 16:49:39 I wouldn't wish it on anyone after what we've been through. But rules are rules, and the associations need to be consistent with what's happened to other clubs in the situation.
Moving off of bottom place as this early stage in the season doesn't outweigh the potential killing of another club in my eyes. Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: Summerof69 on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 19:38:55 They got into debt under 'Sir' Dave Richards, who's doing a 'wonderful' job at the PL, and they've never got their debt reduced.
There has been talk about 'big' investment at the Wendies for the last 10 years, and it's never materialised. I did notice that in one of the papers that Chris Turner, who just left Hartlepool, it allegedly in the process to getting a consortium together to supposedly invest £10m. Isn't a wage cap in League One? Well i reckon someone like Tudguy and a few others would be on double our players wages. What it does show is that our 8000 a week and there 25000 a week dosn't mean jot anymore. Title: Re: Wendies into admin? They will go through the process like every other team that has been in this shit has, and come through it. Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Thats a lot of interest. Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: 4D on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 22:20:23 Are we still bottom? ???
Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: Power to people on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 07:53:32 Looks like they have done adeal with the bank to pay their debt so I suppsoe they wil lowe the bank not HMRC bank is unlikely to issue a WUP I suppose

Post by: jonny72 on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 18:42:02 The bank will have got some form of security in return, most likely the club itself. So they wouldn't issue a winding up order, they'd just take over ownership of the club or the running of it - there is a chance this is what will happen at Liverpool if a buyer isn't found soon.
Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: Summerof69 on Monday, September 27, 2010, 17:28:35 I see Wilkinson has warned fans if he leaves, the club gets wound up...

Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Post by: Summerof69 on Monday, September 27, 2010, 18:12:19 Did a certain fat Greek cunt not make a similar threat, and under similar circumstances? Yes, someone did, and they also said the line about having takeover deals being close to completion. So Wilkinson is Diamond Mike. Who would've thought it !!! :D Of course, Diamond Mike did use to print the Wendies match programmes for them, also. Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Perhaps he is holding classes on how to run a FC in Sheffield, and Sandy Gray doing classes on accounting for FC's obviously Wilkinson was a star pupil Title: Re: Wendies into admin? Quote How close are we to investment? We're that close. But it's like those miners in Chile. They're told they're going to get out in November, but they won't believe that until they climb out and see the sun in the sky. Turns out while buying a football club might be a lot like buying a house, selling one is like being stuck down a mine in Chile. Shaft! Title: Re: Wendies into admin?
