He's another fullback isn't he? What the fuck do we need yet another fullback for?

Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 09:15:21
Yes, he's a right-back

Title: Re: New Triallist
Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 09:16:13
We're going to end up playing 6-3-1 at this rate.

I'm confused.

We have amankwaah and caddis, so why the hell do we need another rb? Caddis won't be played on the right wing.

What is the reasoning behind this??!

I guess it costs us nothing to have a look. All it takes is one nasty injury and we might need the number of an experienced full-back.

Exactly ^

What's the bloody problem!

Too many full backs not enough centre backs, that's the problem.

But we've kept two clean sheets?

What's the bloody problem!

It's more money on a position we don't really need cover for though isn't it

whilst cover is good but we desperatly need a CB.

versatile scottich defender. So maybe he can play CB?

Well hes Scottish so he fits the bill for new signings :D

I get the feeling that manks may no longer be in Dannys first team plans.

Which would be surprising since he was given a new deal last season.

Don't think he is any taller than Caddis so not a centre half. This a stupid stupid fucking thing he is doing and a total waste of time. There must be about 50 hundred out of contract defenders just doing fuckall he may aswell give them a run out. So if he plays today i assume that will be at Nathan Thompsons expense then will it

What facts are they iffy. is he a right back? is he on trial?

Title: Re: New Triallist
Post by: Batch on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 12:35:43
Does seem to be a right back. Which makes it a little odd as to why we are looking at him. Its only a trial though, may not go anywhere,

He's 4 inches taller than Caddis, although McNamee only stands at 5' 11.

I assume he has, at some point played centre back in his career? Otherwise this seems like a complete waste of time?

Nothing wrong with Kevin Amankwaah. I still think Caddis is a winger and if worst came to worse we've got Nathan Thompson.

If McNamee is a right back and nothing but a right back and he did sign - that would give us 4 right backs and 3 centre backs

Might be worth looking at Callum Davenport, had trial at Leeds and didnt get a deal, now playing for his hometown club 6 divisions lower than us to gain fitness, might be worth a punt if wages are cheap

We looked at him a month or so back. Dave he has played something like 50 games in the last 5 years .

Yep, very injury prone but so was Gr££r before he got here.

Looking at the reserve team line up - I cant quite work out the formation

Smith, McNamee, LJF, Evans, Rose, Parsons, Clark, Thompson, Said, O'Brien, Dossevi.

I'm not sure if thats 4-5-1 with Thompson Centre Mid?! or 4-4-2 with O'Brien upfront/off the striker or 4-5-1 with Thompson and Rose and wing backs?

Hamstring problem per chance?

Callum Davenport was a good Championship standard defender, so i'd give him a trial to see if he still has it.

The sceptic in me says he was never going to play - why would we waste time looking at another full back? Why, on the other hand, we might want to do an agent a favour by publicising one of his player's availabilty nationally - today Virgin, Sky, BBC, GivemeFootball, Coventry's site, our site, numerous papers etc, all ran stories about a right back who none of us knew was available...get a favour in another player in return...

Can you really see Wilson or Fitton agreeing to do something like this just to stroke an agents ego ?

Like I said, I doubt it...stranger things have happened. I remember Wise saying when we got Brezovan that the agent owed him a favour - which would imply clubs help the agents out occasionally, maybe even by helping ship a player off to another club, in return for first refusal on another player.

Remote chance...

Well stranger things have happened, particularly as DW has said he hasn't given up on darby. Why would we need 5 RB's?

For when we play teams with 5 LM's. Next question.
