Title: Dossevi Avaliable Saturday
Post by: STFCROB on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, 12:55:31
Thomas Dossevi will be available for selection when Town travel to face Carlisle United this coming Saturday, despite having been called up for his native Togo's clash with Botswana.

The 31-year-old has opted to stay and travel to Cumbria with his new teammates, in a move which has delighted Town boss Danny Wilson.

He said: "It's great news that Thomas wants to stay with us.

"He had the option to go with them but it's looking like he'll be available for us which is great, and testament to his attitude because there's no guarantee he will start."

Town will still be without Paul Caddis and Billy Bodin, who are with Scotland and Wales Under 21s respectively.

Brilliant attitude this one. I was watching him after he got subbed against Brighton. You can tell he really cares about the team by the way he jumps around on the touchline.

I think we havnt found the best way to play Dossevi yet.

I wonder what he'd be like behind the front 2?

Wouldn't mind seeing Dossevi left wing

Or perhaps out wide. I think he is a good player for us to have because he can play in a number of different positions.

No seriously I think he'll be decent on the wing, in the Danny Ward mould- hard working, good touch, good at dribbling and strong

I mentioned that he might be worth a go on the left, he seems reasonably two-footed and doesn't lack the pace, skill or workrate to play there. I think he'd be more suited to a withdrawn role behind the front two.

Glad he's available for selection, I'd like to see him play behind the front two, he seems to have good awareness and can pick a pass.

A Togo international though, has Town ever had a more cosmopolitan squad? - I mean theres not many English players in the 1st team squad, even less are considered regulars - Lucas, Rose, Morrison, Timlin, Austin, Prutton, Kennedy, Evans (although coming from Cricklade is like coming from another country).... any more?

Thom Dossevi (Togo)
Douglas, O'Brien, Sheehan (Irish)
Cuthbert, McGovern, Caddis, Ferry (Scot)
JFL (Haiti)
Vince Pericard (Cameroon)
Kevin Kwaku Osei-Kuffour Amankwaah (although born in Laaandon, is declared for Ghana)
Jakub Jesionkowski (Poland)
Bill Bodin (Taff)

Fuck me, what a motley bunch of players...

I liked Invincible and Van Der Linden (when played in defence)
O'Halloran always looked like a good player before that awful tackle in sunny Dorchester.

The rest of them, dear me... and don't get me started on Tuomela, he surely was a Ali Dia type charlatan..

More likely down to money. He'll get more in bonuses for sitting on the bench at Swindon than he will playing for Togo. Plus Swindon pay for the transport, Togo would make him pay for his own plane ticket (and the half time oranges). He's probably made a grand saying no.

More in bonuses? What are you on about? Your saying he's made money by not playing for them. Highly unlikely

You've got 9 days to get your thinking cap on assuming you aren't going oop north on Saturday.

I can't make my first home game/game in general until the end of September! Going on holiday Tuesday for 2 weeks so have missed lots (although sounds like our performances bar Southampton haven't been worth watching!)
