Title: Brentford on Saturday Post by: 4D on Monday, August 16, 2010, 22:36:03 How would you approach this if you were picking the team? Brentford have had a less than perfect start to the season; I think we are a better team when we "go for it".
Thoughts? Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Crispy on Monday, August 16, 2010, 22:37:25 4-3-3 see how we get on, really go at them :D
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: westcountry on Monday, August 16, 2010, 22:50:06 Just don't start Pericard
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Crispy on Monday, August 16, 2010, 22:51:36 Just don't start Pericard Lucas Caddis Cuthbert LJF Rose Prutton Ferry Douglas Austin Dossevi Ball For me. Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: knifey spoony on Monday, August 16, 2010, 23:10:31 I guess the fact Ferry was taken off at Hartlepool tells us all we need to know about central midfield.
Sounds like O'Brien did enough to keep the shirt too. I think we'll start: Lucas Caddis Cuthbert LJF Rose JPM Douglas Prutton O'Brien Dossevi Austin Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: 4D on Monday, August 16, 2010, 23:12:15 Good shout, perhaps Prutton in behind the front two.
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: DV on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, 01:33:38 Lucas
Amankwaah Cuthbert LJF Caddis JPM Douglas Ferrt O'Brien Austin Dossevi Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Nomoreheroes on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, 05:59:08 I suspect the Wilson will start with 1 up front and try to keep it tight until halftime. In the second half he'll react depending upon the score.
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, 06:19:42 I don't see him playing one up front at home. I think it will be the team that finished at Hartlepool except with JPM coming in for Dossevi or Pericard.
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Langers on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, 08:32:20 Lucas Amankwaah Cuthbert LJF Caddis JPM Douglas Ferrt O'Brien Austin Dossevi Agree with this, a run of games would do aob good. And im not very confident in Rose. Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Ardiles on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, 08:42:46 Brentford (A) last season was the game (in my mind) that really kick started our season. Just as well it's happening even earlier this year.
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: RockinRobin on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, 09:11:30 I'd go for:
Lucas Caddis Cuthbert Jean Francois Rose McGovern Ferry Douglas O'Brien Dossevi Austin If losing: Amankwaah on for Rose, Amankwaah swaps positions with Caddis, Prutton on for O'Brien Pericard on for McGovern (when attacking Amankwaah and Caddis come forward as wingers, so formation changes from 4-3-3 to 2-5-3) Lucas Amankwaah Cuthbert Jean Francois Caddis Ferry Douglas Prutton Dossevi Austin Pericard Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: stfctownenda on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, 11:41:00 Rose was alot better at Hartlepool and IMO doesn't warrant being dropped following his best display for the club. I would seriously consider starting with team that finished the end of the game with Dossevi, Pericard and Austin all starting. People can say what they want about Vince but when he plays it seems to cause all sorts of problems for defences just because he is a battering ram. He was involved in both goals Saturday, his challenge forced the defender to head straight to Dossevi and he scored and also he put Austin in for the equaliser.

Caddis Cuthbert LJF Rose JPM Ferry Douglas AOB Austin Dossevi That's my team. Harsh on Prutton, Ball, Manks and Vinny but there is so much competition in the squad.. edit: that's the same team as RockinRobin picked. Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Bert1981 on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, 12:37:41 Lucas Caddis Cuthbert LJF Rose JPM Ferry Douglas AOB Austin Dossevi That's my team. Harsh on Prutton, Ball, Manks and Vinny but there is so much competition in the squad.. edit: that's the same team as RockinRobin picked. I would also go with that team, but I think Danny will stick with Prutton over Ferry. Looking forward to seeing a bit more of Dossevi on Saturday and also Caddis for the first time. Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Mark Hanrahan on Friday, August 20, 2010, 21:23:21 4-4-2 - no real surprises...
Lucas Caddis Morrison Cuthbert Rose Bell Prutton Douglas JP Austin Dossevi I'm going 3-0 Town. Someone is due a dicking from us and I've got a feeling tomorrow is the day we click. YOU REDS!! Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: leefer on Friday, August 20, 2010, 21:31:21 Morrison would be a suprise to many Mark.
Hope he gets his chance but Lescinal played really well v Brighton in my opinion so will he be dropped? We will see. Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Langers on Friday, August 20, 2010, 21:36:03 Lucas Caddis Cuthbert LJF Rose JPM Ferry Douglas AOB Austin Dossevi That's my team. Harsh on Prutton, Ball, Manks and Vinny but there is so much competition in the squad.. edit: that's the same team as RockinRobin picked. Thats my team aswell. A run in the team will do AOB good. Lets hope he doesnt get injured! Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Crispy on Friday, August 20, 2010, 21:46:35 Thats my team aswell. A run in the team will do AOB good. Lets hope he doesnt get injured! Mine too, only played like this; Lucas Caddis Cuthbert Francois Rose Douglas JPM AOB Ferry Austin Dossevi Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Hitchinred on Friday, August 20, 2010, 22:05:41 Wonder what size crowd as my sister couldn't get two seats together in Don Rogers stand this afternoon.
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Benzel on Friday, August 20, 2010, 22:08:34 I swear they always say that. Then you get there and have half the stand to choose from.
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, August 20, 2010, 22:09:55 If she tried to book them over the phone this afternoon, she wouldn't have been able to get two seats together because the majority would've been released for the matchday ticket office tomorrow.
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Hitchinred on Friday, August 20, 2010, 22:15:46 Think she went to the box office but I'm not sure. Anyway she was told that the tickets she got were in the quiet bit of the Town End to which she replied "that's a shame because I prefer a bit of atmosphere!"
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Bogus Dave on Friday, August 20, 2010, 22:16:52 Just stand in the middle
Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: leefer on Friday, August 20, 2010, 22:17:11 Wonder what size crowd as my sister couldn't get two seats together in Don Rogers stand this afternoon. Noticed v Brighton that stand was packed...even at the Stratton Bank end. Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: oxonrobin on Friday, August 20, 2010, 22:23:45 Lucas Caddis Cuthbert Francois Rose Douglas JPM AOB Ferry Austin Dossevi [/quote] Would be my team, doubt that Danny thinks the same though. Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Larman on Friday, August 20, 2010, 22:51:04 Lucas Caddis Cuthbert Francois Rose Douglas JPM AOB Ferry Austin Dossevi Would be my team, doubt that Danny thinks the same though. Ferry behind the front 2! mmm why not, would be great to see how he would get on Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: leefer on Friday, August 20, 2010, 23:03:03 We dont play midfielders behind the strikers.........always seems to be midfielders in front of defenders.
Suppose when you play with wide men thats the way it has to be. Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Fred Elliot on Saturday, August 21, 2010, 17:14:33 We dont play midfielders behind the strikers.........always seems to be midfielders in front of defenders. Suppose when you play with wide men thats the way it has to be. The problem is Lee that with centre mid so deep the wide players have to come inside to try and support the top two. we looked so narrow today Title: Re: Brentford on Saturday Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, August 21, 2010, 17:18:51 I didn't think we looked narrow today. Against Brighton we certainly did but we used the wings a lot better this afternoon. We just need that understanding between full back and winger to make it click.
