Title: ignorance Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Friday, June 17, 2005, 17:59:21 john deacon barnes in his preview of the mexico v brazil game sunday going on about how it will be better than the greek fiasco, because they know each other so well and they both play attacking south american football.
spastic. mexico is in a different football federation to south america, it would be like saying england know the tunisians so well. Title: ignorance Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, June 17, 2005, 18:05:50 John Barnes is ace....my kid and I turn on to squirm at how bad he is at the talking head thing.....punditry he's tolerable.
Steve Claridge is simply the worst TV summariser, especially when taliking about high grade football......on 5Live doing say Sheff Utd v Milwall he's good, because its a differnt requirement. Title: ignorance Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Friday, June 17, 2005, 18:07:44 i actually threw something at barnes the other night, i reckon mexico could be a good outside bet for world cup 2006 check out their forward fonseca

Brazil have a huge array of talent.....its really a case of can they sort it all into a team pattern, if they do then they're the team to beat again. Title: ignorance Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Friday, June 17, 2005, 18:17:47 i admit they are a jeckell and hyde team , in one week a couple of years ago i saw them beat brazil 1-0 at he azteca then lose to guatemala in guatemala city, however they have a very strong squad now and they have hatfuls of goals with fonseca and borgetti up front.
jared borgetti would do fantastic in the premiership, big and strong old school centre forward, and if you ever wonder why there are not more mexicans playing in europe it is due to the fact that the mexican domestic leauge pays huge wages almost premiership sizes. Title: ignorance Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Friday, June 17, 2005, 18:27:56 There's only one way to beat them get round the back.
Legend. :advercool: Title: ignorance Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, June 17, 2005, 18:29:06 Hugo Sanchez is just about the only Mexican I can think of who's done well outside of the country......even someone like Cuauhtemoc Blanco struggled at Fiorentina.
Title: ignorance Post by: timmyg on Friday, June 17, 2005, 19:28:40 Remember that Branca fella with his 'Kangaroo Hop' where, when faced with two defeneders, he would grip the ball between his feet and jump with it between them? That was cooler than an eskimo. 8)

Title: ignorance Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Sunday, June 19, 2005, 20:40:37 well what was i saying, mexico 1 brazil o the scorer borgetti :king:
Title: ignorance Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, June 19, 2005, 22:15:41 Quote from: "mexico red" well what was i saying, mexico 1 brazil o the scorer borgetti :king: Mexico were alright .......not the World Cup though. Title: ignorance Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Sunday, June 19, 2005, 22:39:24 alright? they made brazil look avaerage, think about the standard of who they were playing.....ronaldiniho, robiniho, adriano, ze roberto, gilberto, etc.
Title: ignorance Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, June 19, 2005, 22:44:14 I'm not sure that Brazil were busting themselves to win this game...nevertheless Mexico were well organised and hard working.....which can carry you a long way in end of season tournaments. Still don't think they'll win the World Cup,
Title: ignorance Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Monday, June 20, 2005, 19:32:20 Mexico are a decent outside bet for the world cup at 81/1. I don't think anyone has a better team than England though but I doubt we'll win it.
Title: ignorance Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, June 20, 2005, 21:13:07 Such a lot will happen between, now and 2006, that its a bit pointless to speculate.
