Title: Re: Huntley Post by: leefer on Saturday, July 31, 2010, 12:25:28 Should have been executed for those crimes.
Title: Re: Huntley Post by: Highland Robin on Saturday, July 31, 2010, 12:26:59 Hang on.....I understand the strong feelings, but once the state allows, turns a blind eye to or in any other way ignores that sort of violence against anyone, itis frankly no better than the criminal fraternity. It makes no difference who the victim is, or how vile his crimes, he is entitled to protection. i would have thought that there has been enough concern about the goings-on in prison in recent months for authorities to be a bit more careful about this sort of revenge attack.

I'd have thought that he is receiving protection otherwise somebody in prison would have killed him long ago. Theres some crimes that make you well really however much you think that the authorities have messed up you dont really care...i doubt whether him having a few quid he wins will improve his life...lets hope not anyway. I don't think HR is suggesting for a moment that he has any sympathy for Huntley, but the point he makes is fair. We don't have the death penalty in this country, whether or not people would bring it back (and I'm sure plenty would for the likes of Huntley), and leaving someone to the wolves so to speak isn't far off it. People on the outside who think crime pays have to watch there backs. If a paeodophile living in your street got attacked even though the police knew he was living there would you have the same principles of thaught...i suggest if you do you are in the minority....he did the vile crime so if he cant watch his own back..........tuf. Title: Re: Huntley Post by: Nemo on Saturday, July 31, 2010, 13:20:41 To be honest, I'm not sure of my own opinion on this one, and if someone deserved to have this happen to them he's pretty close to the top of the list, it just seems strange if there's a situation where we don't use the Death Penalty, but something like this is allowed to happen (if indeed it was allowed to happen).
Title: Re: Huntley Post by: sonicyouth on Saturday, July 31, 2010, 13:42:22 I expect his legal team are paid for by legal aid as well try reading the article and then you won't have to expect anything."a case that could cost tax payers more than £1 million in legal aid fees." |
