Title: Cirencester Town (A)
Post by: Crispy on Friday, July 23, 2010, 12:51:36
Anybody making the short trip?

What starting 11 would you like to see? For me,

                     Lucas
Amankwaah Morrison Cuthbert Rose
       JPM Prutton Douglas Bodin
                 Ball Austin

With a reserves 11 second half, give the first team a run together, this is if we havent signed the celtic Bhoys yet  ;)

Excellent, take em by surprise - we should be able to rack up a sizeable lead in that first quarter of an hour while they're still in the dressing room. It's sneaky, but I like it

What are the chances of seeing some more triallists? Anyone think Hughes-Mason or Arquin could be back?

I can't make my mind up whether I want to go or not.

Any want to give me a lift? Or anyone need a lift?

If I've got someone to go with then that's my excuse to go.

Full time result 2-1, don't think we should read too much into it to be fair.

Nah we shouldn't. For a start 4 of our proposed starting 11 didn't feature. Ball looked alright. He looks skillful etc and it was a good little finish. Impressed with Will Evans. He looked handy tonight and a good finish. O'Brien and Pericard....and I know it's pre-season but sorry they were next to useless sadly. Pericard showed one flash of brilliance hitting the post but that was about it. O'Brien gets into good positions but they really isn't any quality in the final ball at all.

When should we start to worry then.

Dull game really. Pitch wasn't looking its best mind.

Pericard did OK considering he started the game with a comedy air shot. Looked reasonably strong, thumped one against the post. Played the full 90. Still worried about his movement and goalscoring. We don't need a Heskey.

Ball continued to look lively. Not the finished article on today's display but kept the defenders busy all night. Took goal well.

Will Evans is tall! And thumped his goal in well. Did OK.

Timlin - Did OK.

Trialist - doubt we will see again. He wasn't particularly bad. Far from it. But didn't really do enough.

Lucas didn't have much to do.

Morrison played all game, did well but got an injury (to his left hand!).

Cuthbert was good until my mate said he hadn't missed anything in the air. Then Ciren scored when it looked like he missjudged it.

Thomson (sp?) was probably the pick of the youngsters today. Looked fairly mobile and involved in the match.

O'Brien was O'Brien. Good pace. Tried to get involved. Shit final ball. At least he is fit.

Subs - Bodin tried hard to get into the game and got involved but not quite there yet. Definitely shows promise. I think Rose came on but Ciren tired the more the game went on so hard to judge.

Morrison sprained his thumb.  Im sure he'll survive.  Game was ok.  Ball best player on the pitch.  Big vinnie is a useful out as he hold the ball well, just wish the bugger would shoot occasionally.

At least 2 players short for the starting XI.

Which positions?

Title: Re: Cirencester Town (A)

CB and LM.

Lucas

Amankwaah
CB
Cuthbert
Rose

JPM
Douglas
Prutton
LW

Austin
Ball

I know Wilson said something in the paper about playing Ball wide left but that leaves us needing a striker imo.

That's just in regards to the first XI not over all squad.

I apprently did. Some matey dropped his on the pitch, and we didn't know it was his and he reached the railing over to grab it after we were on about having a look, he got it and gave it straight too us. I went off for a slash and this matey got shitty, apprently i was stealing his program! Ahh well  :)

I missed Cirens, but ours were ok. Ball got down the left side of the box, cut inside and put it under the keeper. Evans' was good. Ball squared from the left, bit of a lucky touch off of Murray to sit the ball up for him to volley into the corner.

When Jean-Francois came on we looked so much better. What we seemed to lack was pace in the backline, but he was immense and rectified this - covered so much ground and pretty much mopped up every ball which was being chased down. Great to see him with a big smile on his face the whole time he was warming up too.

I know it was 'only' Ciren, but out of the centre backs he looked the most decisive, aware and most importantly had the pace to cope with some quick players in their attack.
