Title: In all seriouness...
Post by: Nijholts Nuts on Sunday, July 18, 2010, 01:47:31
...are we going to parade a Haiti flag for our man JFL? I feel pretty strongly about this, because that poor guy has been through some turbo shit. Personally I have been quite quick to  :bandwagon: about his defensive frailties.

However, he is a Town player. He plays for my beloved football team. DW has trust in him so...so do I!!

I want to at least pass a Haiti flag about the place on the 7/8. Who's with me? Who thinks this is a good idea? I will organise it, ie purchase the biggest, mother fucking Haitian flag I can find. Anyone want to donate towards it feel free...anythong left over after the purchse of the flag can go to the Haiti Relief Fund...

Get in on it.............

I think it's a great idea. Don't pass it around tho cos most people won't recognise it as a Haitian flag and won't know what the fuck is going on. Just hang it up where JFL can see.

I posted somewhere about the place where we got our london reds one . It was about £300 for a custom 15x10, but the lad who sorted it haggled them down to £180, took about 2 weeks.

I'd be happy to chuck a few quid in. (For definitions of "a few quid" no greater than a tenner!)

Get JFW and her cheerleading pals to wear these (http://www.cafepress.co.uk/+haitians_do_it_better_classic_thong,201294329) and perform a routine before the game.

If you get a big enough flag to go over the crowd I'm sure people would join in.

It's not like large crowd flags are a brand new concept in football.

Lecsinel or Lescinel? The OS has it spelt both ways!

The man himself spells it the former, it seems. Had never realised though, always spelt it 'sc' :-[

Maybe we could try and raise some money towards a Haitian charity dealing with the relief effort aswell, or try and get Fitton or someone on the board to try and make our first home match similar to that of the Help for Hero days that we have, but instead try and raise money for a Haitian Charity?

I know the gas do it, but;

Bristol rovers fans all started collecting money for a massive flag to pass around their home end, they then posed it too the bored, who took it on and payed for it fully.

Wonder if we ask? It wasnt a small flag, was a fuck off big job, ill try and find a picture..

I'm really sorry to disappoint you Si but I don't have any cheerleading pals!! I teach cheerleading to kids!
But flag idea is a good one

...Found a picture. Got to be worth a try asking the board?

Whilst I think our board may well get involved financially in my opinion it would mean more if we funded it ourselves. So count me in for £10.

Sorry ... should have read all the posts. Good idea about fundraising through the board but I still feel the flag should be the fans' message to LJF.

Yeah but how many people would recognise the Haitian flag?

If it had his name on people would get the idea tho.

Got to have his name or initials or maybe Lecsy/Lescy on!

Would definatley put a few quid in.

Do you mean a Haitian charity or a charity working in Haiti? Because there aren't that many Haitian charities.

Well I'm pretty sure the man himself would recognise it, isn't that who it's for? When the thing is over your head you can't see it anyway.

But initials/names and tings would be fly.
