Title: Player Sponsorship 2010/2011 - Who to sponsor?
Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, 14:16:48
After the departure of Gordon Greer we now need to decide who to sponsor for next season. I've set up this poll showing players and management currently available.

The players are priced at £350 and the management at £200. We currently have around £380 in the pot.

If we don't end up using all the money then I suggest donating the remainder to charity.

Although if we do wait for a new signing, we could end up having to pay £450.

I also wouldn't want it going to HFH, so you haven't upset me (you've reassured me in my stance), because it's something I've said on more than one occasion of late.

We're on the Ball.
we're on the Ball...

Fine by me. If it doesn't get extended it doesn't get extended. Perhaps the club can switch it to a youngster (if available) or give us a couple of extra 'free' VIP tickets for the raffle if not (and for being jolly nice chaps and chapesses).

The club have confirmed that if Ball leaves in January then we'd be offered a replacement.

Consensus seems to be to go with Ball, so I'll let them know it's a deal.

Just out of interest why do people prefer Ball to Morisson?

Morisson is actually a Town player rather than on loan and given he is trying to really claim a first team place after not playing much last season could maybe do with the encouragement.

Becuase he gets the ball hes david ball, david david ball.

But no seriously, i think ball has a somewhat of a big player feeling around him because hes from Man City, but i guess your right..  ???

I don't, but given that Morrison lost out to 'a new signing' I'm just saying I'm happy to go along with the idea.

I'm happy for it to be Ball, although as it's already been agreed I guess that's irrelevant :)

As far as Ball over Morrison, I would prefer it to be someone I would be happy with if they were picked to start the game. At the moment with Morrison I would be apprehensive if he was our starting CB

I can't see past a Lescinel / Cuthbert partnership starting off the season.  If one get's injured then Morrison could very well seize his opportunity.

There again DW may just sign a new experienced Centreback but i don't think that's high on his priority list.

Ball seems a good choice but if Danny is looking at bringing in an experienced striker could it be Ball will be a bench player?

Ball could def be a squad player.

Good point about Morisson tho he may well not start. It will prob be JFL and Cuthbert.

Well TEF have paid a years worth of sponsorship money so would be given another player that is free. If no one was free they'd be given the next new player.

Jesus Dan, why so angry ?

OK Greer, in your eyes shit on us.

None of us will ever know the real reasons or the chain of events that led up to the departure, so why let it fester ?

The squad is shaping up nicely and you should be full of optimism rather than what you are portraying at the moment.

With regard to the sponsorship, it was voted upon and that is who the consensus wanted to sponsor. That's good enough for me mate

As for your closing coment ........................ so fucking what ?

We all agree you do a good job Sam...we all appreciate the work you do,i wouldnt do it...so well done.
Fact is though talking for myself i would rather a young lad just coming through or a permanent player to get the sponsorship.
That is just MY opinion and to be honest if it goes to Ball fair play....the vote wasnt a great idea considering you have more voters than people who dipped there hands in there pockets.
The point i was trying to make was that if Ball gets injured and has to teturn to City say after a month its a bit shit really....thanks again and i wasnt getting personal with you or anyone.
