Title: Shrewsburys 'Top Boy'
Post by: Crispy on Sunday, July 4, 2010, 00:10:30
Right i know this isnt a hooli's forum or whatever, this just made me laugh.

I was on facebook, as teenagers do, at like 12am when i got an add, and a 15 year old wanted to have a fight with me and claimed he was their top boy, depite the fact he's 15..

Anyway, if you have facebook, please add him and call him a  :cunt: ; he said he was going to take the townend, with his mob, of 4, 15 year olds.

Where is the "hole" of Swindon he is going to take? At left back or alongside Charlie Austin?

This thread makes me cringe! Is there not a teeny tots section where threads of this ilk can be put?

I know the youth are the future and all that and I'm probably an old fit but this is just embarrasing!

Gonna give that game a miss then, sounds like Millwall part 2.

He's assured me that his mob of 4 will rule league 2. He then said he'd be in the town end against forest because he wanted to "Stop on your face and your top boys you wanker"

Nutter.

Shrewsbury is a beautiful town, surrounded by some great countryside in one of England's most sleepy, unspoiled counties.  I simply refuse to believe that they have a 'firm'.

Somewhere a Shrews TEF equivalent forum is collectively pissing themselves laughing at Crispy for falling for their hilarious facebook gag.

Thought you would!  I have very happy memories of the three years I spent there as a kid (Shawbury, 1979-1982).  Lovely part of the world.

It is a beautiful Town. Great pubs and a good bit of history.
They did have a firm back in the 80'd as I shook hands with some of them after Kamara did Melrose's jaw.

Shrewsbury brought a coach load down for their league game a few seasons ago. They werent picked up by Police and got off at the Magic roundabout.

They were giving it the big one comming past the Town End and a few came unstuck.

Swindon had massive numbers at the league game at gay meadow, they had a mob that were locked in a pub by the Police all day.

Great second half.

Remmember jumping around for ages, thinking if this is the end of the road for Swindon fans and terracing, better enjoy it while I can.

That was epic, dancing around the terraces in the pouring rain, proper taste of old school footie!!

seem to remember phil smith played an absolute blinder

He did.

Think it was his first game for us as well? He made a fantastic save from Ben Davies right the death, which lead me to run, jump up the fence and tell him what a 'fucking excellent' save it was. He looked alittle bit scared!

Aaron Brown 'scored' the winner, it took about 3 deflections. Fola Onibuje missed a sitter and then scored a harder chance about a minute later!

I was living in Shrewsbury when we last played them, and spent the previous 18 years there. Being a Swindon Town fan I got a lot of grief at school for my choice of club so these encounters were serious grudge issues for me. I lost my voice from screaming with celebration after our deflected winner, then came that point blank range effort stopped by Phil Smith, which had me just as jubilant. Me and Smith were eye ball to eye ball as I scaled the fence to roar my approval at his heroics. Pointed my index finger at him, then the thumbs up. Massive day of elation that one. Pissed with rain in the second half but as everyone retired to the relative cover at the back of the partially covered terrace, I defiantly stood out front, looking out to a cluster of friends in their end thinking to myself 'have it, you bastards!'

Contrary to perception, they have got a reputable firm called EBF (English Border Front) who in the past punched well above their status might suggest. It's that Welsh/English antagonism that fueled it, sense of national partisanship.

What a bloody day though!

Good on you, they were to the man complete twats whilst I lived there. Was taken aback by the fact that in 93/94 they had more arrests apart from Liverpool. Like a few others who know the town on this thread will concur, it's a sedate place on the whole, but it has a side to it that would put Beirut to shame.

Good memories from our last (ever) visit to Gay Meadow - I remember it well. We thought it might be an interesting day when we were creeping along in the traffic towards the ground, side-by-side with the (quite sizeable) Town mob being escorted there.

Chatting with a steward in the ground, he reckoned that their information was that some Wolves were expected to merge with us for a toe-to-toe with Shrewsbury - not sure whether or not any of that materialised.

Nah none of their lot materialised in the end - they were having handbags with walsall at the M42 services, little old ding dong nothing more :hmmm:

then they tooled up and went down homebase carpark looking for the west brom youth but another no show meant no one had top honours that day. Plod nowhere to be seen in all of this of course

Does this sort of shit still genuinely take place?  I thought most of it was reserved for crap films featuring cock-er-ney's (or should that be mockneys?).

I suspect The Plagiarist is taking the piss, but it kicked off in York today before a pre-season friendly against Hull:
