Yes, it'll show on the PNC as you having tax - but if a copper were to happen to see an out of date tax disc in the windscreen you can still get done for not displaying a valid tax disc.

I've done it before and got away with it, but it's your call.

If you buy it tonight online before the old one expires you will be ok.

Ah didn't see this:

Quote
If you prefer to tax in the last few days of the month, there is now an exemption from the offence of not displaying a tax disc. This exemption covers the first five working days of the month and allows time for the new disc to arrive in the post.

The exemption only applies if applications are made before the current tax disc or SORN expires.

Ignore my post then, looks like it's perfectly legal.

Thought you have an extra five days to get it from the last day of the month?

Which makes sense really as most people get paid on the last or first day of the month

As Samdy said

Yeah if you get pulled over then you'll have some fun with the coppers.

Can't wait to renew mine next month. £235 for the year :(

the old bill cant do nothing, as if you apply online for it you get 5 days before they can have you for not displaying it,
having said that they will try and get you for something else,

But they will keep you sat in the back of the cop car for as long as they can, just because you're guilty until proven innocent.

Had you been more organised and done it earlier in the month you would have saved yourself this hassle.

Something for you to bear in mind in future!
