Rose began his career as a trainee at Manchester United where he was released before making an appearance.[1] He joined Conference National club Chester City, moving on to Hereford United[2] and then into the Football League with Yeovil Town, from where he spent spells on loan at Cheltenham Town and Scunthorpe United.[2][3] In the summer of 2006 he agreed to join Stockport County on a two-year contract ,[4] at the end of which he signed a one-year extension with the option of a further year.[5] His knack for scoring long-range free kicks[3] made Rose a fans' favourite at Stockport, leading to terrace chants of "Michael Rose has got magic toes".[citation needed] Rose joined Norwich City on loan until the end of the 2009–10 season. On 30 January 2010, he scored the winning goal in a 2–1 victory over Hartlepool United Senior career* Years Team Apps† (Gls)† 2000–2001 Manchester United 0 (0) 2001–2002 Chester City 35 (4) 2002–2004 Hereford United 80 (6) 2004–2006 Yeovil Town 41 (1) 2005 → Cheltenham Town (loan) 3 (0) 2006 → Scunthorpe United (loan) 15 (0) 2006– Stockport County 104 (8) 2010 → Norwich City (loan) 12 (1) Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: Sippo on Friday, June 18, 2010, 09:36:19 http://thetownend.com/index.php/topic,28647.msg840429/topicseen.html#new

Good celebrations with the fans and his team mates. Looks a popular player? Another leader on the pitch? Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: PocketScience on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 19:48:11 Seems like a good signing from what I've seen
Would be good to have a player chipping in with goals from free kicks too Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: stfc1969 on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 19:50:27 Seems like a good signing from what I've seen agree does look good but i still prefer sheehan Would be good to have a player chipping in with goals from free kicks too Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 19:56:39 Based on a 3 min video?
Genius Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: pride_of_wilts on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 19:58:13 Rather have Rose than Sheehan, Rose has a lot of experience of playing in league one and is quite consistent, Also it sounds like he is someone who gets stuck in and can hit a great free kick too.
Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 19:59:07 I don't know who i would prefer i aint seen Rose play fucking once for us yet.

We need someone who can score from free kick!!! we need to be able to come from a goal two goals down and win this season, wining free kicks and scoreing them is one way. Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: Colin Todd on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 21:27:51 He hasn't signed for Leeds yet officially but he will Technicality. Players sign pre-contracts that start as soon as their existing ones finish. Any player who has signed for another club already is commited to that contract as is the club Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: RJack on Saturday, October 23, 2010, 18:37:02 Give yourself a pat on the back son, great performance today. One assist and a fantastic free kick for the 2nd goal.
He's put in some decent performances the last few games & defensively he did alright today too. Much improved player from the player at the start of the season and more like the player i was hoping we'd signed Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: leefer on Saturday, October 23, 2010, 18:43:52 Give yourself a pat on the back son, great performance today. Much improved player from the player at the start of the season and more like the player i was hoping we'd signed Agreed........few people on here shot me down early season as i said he did well at Norwich....played well today and a great goal..............but he has to show this standard of performance every match. Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: RJack on Saturday, October 23, 2010, 18:47:29 When he 1st started out for us i just think he was too attack minded but now you can clearly see that he thinks about his positioning when going forward and makes sure of his defensive responsibilites when tracking back.
Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: jonny72 on Saturday, October 23, 2010, 18:49:14 He's a great example for why a player who is off form should be dropped and have to fight for their place.
Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: jayohaitchenn on Sunday, October 24, 2010, 11:58:57 He's won me over too. I think he has to start just because of the free kick threat. I would like to see both him and Sheehan in some how.
Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Sunday, October 24, 2010, 13:04:17 I can see the Adver headlines on Monday ...DANNY WILSON AMAZING REVELATION. 'SIGNS GOOD PLAYER, KNOWS MORE THAN FANS' SHOCKER.. :hmmm:
Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: jimbob on Sunday, October 24, 2010, 13:53:46 He's won me over too. I think he has to start just because of the free kick threat. I would like to see both him and Sheehan in some how. Rose has a much better delivery than sheehan and has pace.clearly rose is a confidence player and must continue to start given his current form...stating the obvious but we wouldn't have signed sheehan had rose not had a ropey start.I imagine he told sheehan that the left back slot was his and perhaps that's why he started him rather than rose yest.Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: DV on Sunday, October 24, 2010, 14:12:58 Wilsons like that though, he has his favourites who will come straight back in regardless of how their replacement played. David Lucas being the other.
I dont think Rose should have been dropped in the first place, before Ritchie got here I would have tried Rose & Sheehan both on the left. Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: Benzel on Sunday, October 24, 2010, 15:04:57 Michael Rose is magic...
Becoming deserving of Gurn's old song now isn't he? Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Sunday, October 24, 2010, 18:15:58 Rose does have fantastic delivery into the box!
Could we not play with Rose and Sheehan? Sheehan at left back, Rose left midfield, go back to 4-4-2. 4-5-1 at home isnt really on in my opinion! Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, October 24, 2010, 19:06:03 Fair play to him. Can't defend for toffee but the best set piece taker i've seen in a town shirt, and whenever called upon in recent weeks hasn't let anyone down
Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: LucienSanchez on Sunday, October 24, 2010, 21:47:59 He is an awful defender... and free-kicks that are pretty good shouldn't get you a place in the starting XI when your primary abjective is to stop goals coming repeatedly from your side of the pitch.
Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Sunday, October 24, 2010, 23:08:21 Michael Rose is magic... Becoming deserving of Gurn's old song now isn't he? Thought exactly the same when that beauty flew in yesterday actually. Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: adje on Monday, October 25, 2010, 10:13:12 free-kicks that are pretty good shouldn't get you a place in the starting XI It worked for Beckham Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: jb on Monday, October 25, 2010, 11:00:37 He is an awful defender... and free-kicks that are pretty good shouldn't get you a place in the starting XI when your primary abjective is to stop goals coming repeatedly from your side of the pitch. He's hardly an awful defender is he. Thoroughly improved, fair play to him Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: LucienSanchez on Monday, October 25, 2010, 14:22:02 Erm, yes... yes he is. He gets turned too easily, done for pace and skill repeatedly, rarely blocks a cross, and generally has been poor. I genuinely prefer Kennedy by some distance.
Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: RobertT on Monday, October 25, 2010, 15:41:27 I think his defending has improved in recent games, which wasn't hard to be honest. I think it's a big risk with Kev playing so poorly as a defender right now, which is why Sheehan had to be in. I'd be happy for Rose to start if we sort out the right back position though, and if we are playing 4-4-2. I think he'd be too exposed as things stand with Ball protecting the right back and Ritchie the left back. With Sheehan out though, he has to play, so I'd imagine the right back being tinkered with to become a bit more secure.
Title: Re: Swindon lining up a swoop for Michael Rose Post by: jimbob on Monday, October 25, 2010, 16:11:49 Hands up those that mist sheehan gettin a right royal roasting in the 1st half then?!seen milk turn quicker than sheehan and on current form rose deserves the shirt....disclaimer that I have the right to be fickle as the season progresses tho
