Title: Paul Bodin
Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Saturday, June 5, 2010, 19:29:23
Nothing like putting Danny Wilson under pressure already is there.

Bodin Said

From my point of view there’s enough quality in the squad. I personally think that we could nick an automatic spot next year.”

Two things,if Bodin believes that lets hope he does not become our manager one day and secondly why are the adver asking him anyway? They may aswell have done a interview with Jeremy Newton.

Lets put some pressure on ourselves?

Why not?

Why not?

I prefer the "Let's play it by ear sort of attitude"

3 teams who went up this season didnt have necessarily the best players, our even the best team (especially in the case of Leeds). But they were the 3 clubs that wanted to go up most, and expected to go up.

If you look at the best players and the best managers I dont think they were ever scared to be amibtious.

Next season's going to be different. We're in it to get promoted.

Simple fact is the board had a 5 year plan to get us into the Championship we are in the 4th year of that next season, The board will want/expect us to get promoted next season or the following season.

fitton said the plan this year was to get in the play offs, in a recent interview.

Taking your points in order:

"From my point of view there’s enough quality in the squad. I personally think that we could nick an automatic spot next year.”

Well we were pretty damned close to nicking an automatic spot this season, so why not next?

and secondly why are the adver asking him anyway?

Because Anthony Marshall or whoever wrote the piece was cruising round the County Ground, desperate for something to write and just happened to come accross Paul Bodin clearing out his locker. It's that simple.

Pretty certain he said the aim was to achieve two out of three, not all of them.

Yes you are right we were damn close, thats not my point OST.Are you genuinly saying that without Paynter,Ward,Ferry,Sheehan,Darby we would have been so damn close?

My point is that with this squad we have right now it will be no where near 2nd.I'm not saying we wont add to it because of course we will but to be saying things like that before we even have our squad assembled is just stupid.

You're over-analyzing Don..'some bloke' has come up to Bodin as he's on his way out of  the CG asking him for a quote..Bodin's obliged..it's either that or tell him to fuck off..you're reading too much into meaningless quotes..

To be fair DRS has a point. With this squad at this point in time we won't finish 2nd. I guess Bodin is going to say that though isn't he? I mean he's not going to say "oh we've lost our top scorer so we'll be lucky to get top 6 again."

Didn't say he didn't....but there's really not a lot happening right now...traditionally this is the 'dead time'..pretty much everyone's fucked off on holiday. Nowt much is going to happen before the 1st July when players' contracts expire..let's drink cider and listen to Galleano.. 8)

The pressure is there anyway.

The only way we can improve on this season is to go one better and get promoted...

The majority of fans from other clubs think we'll be up there again next season with Huddersfield and Southampton.

When you look at it, last summer Wilson managed to turn a steaming pile of shit into a group of play-off finalists. I have every confidence in his ability to bring in the right players again, especially considering we have a good core already in place.

As long as we hold on to Wilson with a few managerless clubs casting a eye in his direction....he done his reputation no harm at all last season taking an unfancied team within 1 game of promotion
