Post by: stfcinbmth on Thursday, June 3, 2010, 18:16:12

Totally crap, parking for about 50-60 cars. It's a school playing field and car park

Imagine if it was inside the ground. That would be ace.

That's the same week the season starts, so I'd imagine it'll be a team of youngsters and trialists.

I'll be there for sure, and i'm certain between now and then you can arrange things so you'll be there too. It'd be unthinkable for you to miss this one!

Yep train station ain't far 10-15 mins

If it's a team of youngsters and trialists then what's the frigging point, taking the piss as far as I'm concerned

Austin would play, surely? Should be captain for the game or something. Doubt Poole care much about the rest of our first team.

yeh. considering the Charlie Austin stroke of luck, we owe them a near strength team to swell their coffers. Hope all Dorset based Reds will be there, and plenty more from Wiltshire besides.

Be surprised if it is not a mixture of 1st team, reserve and youth I would be shocked if Charlie did not play some part in the game, he would probably want to play

The signs for Poole from Chippenham are indeed for the Poole we are discussing. But it's a good 90 minute drive, or much longer if the traffic is bad.

Will agree with that, got up very late for the Brentford and Charlton games, hardly time for a beer. Should be fine if you leave early enough tho 2-3pm and time for a beer or two on the quay before hand

Only the one home friendly because the pitch won't be ready early enough for any more.

Given how we've reaped such benefits from securing Austin's signature, and Poole Town nurtured that talent, I hope Swindon fans might be persuaded to help an impoverished club. Had we won at Wembley, Poole were set for a pay day that would've set them up for the coming few seasons. Not to be.

We're not that impoverished tbf(I don't know whose side I'm on now) It's a well run club with no debts who play a decent brand of footie, currently on the look out for a new ground, but think that is hopefully nearly sorted. Maybe Swindon could be persuaded to be the guinea pigs when it's finally completed?

Is there a similiar case of a town as large as Poole playing this far down the footballing pyrmaid. They got potential for sure, especially with all them multi-millionaires in Sandbanks.
