Title: Parking on Outskirts of London
Post by: Luci on Thursday, June 3, 2010, 17:39:31
Sorry all as I know this has been posted somewhere before but couldn't find it.

Going to London on Monday and need to drive and need suggestions on where to park for the day (from about 9.30 ish until 3) on the outskirts outside the congestion zone (coming from Swindon).  I normally park in a street in Ealing as its free but may be a bit risky in terms of space so does anyone know anywhere else that is either free or cheap and close to a tube station?

I normally park at Hounslow West Tube (easy, cheap car park at the station) and then head in on the Picadilly line.

White City Estate in Shepherd's Bush estate is free, and right near the White City tube station on the central line - free parking on weekends.

That sounds promising - is it easy to get to?

EDIT - think I've found it!  cheers!

We always park at Hounslow and get the tube from there. Can't remember which Hounslow but there is plenty of street parking without restrictions, though West rings a bell.

Hounslow West is piss easy from the M4 - Takes about 5 mins from the junction. Big car park which is free all weekend and not too pricey during the week. Tube is pretty empty when you get on too.

There's also the added bonus of being able to chat up knackered cabin crew members heading into London after their flights. I'm sure they all enjoy it as much as I do.
