Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: Bogus Dave on Monday, May 31, 2010, 08:38:27 They do have a fair bit of cash and poyet is a decent enough manager, they should be there or there abouts next may
Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: RobertT on Monday, May 31, 2010, 08:38:32 Hmm, when you see it like that, we've got a cracking chance. Charlton may struggle with poor finances and we can hope Sheff Weds struggle 2nd time around as well.
Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Monday, May 31, 2010, 08:39:02 brighton will be up there, poyet has sorted them out.

Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: The_Plagiarist on Monday, May 31, 2010, 08:48:18 Nah Brighton will be nowhere.
Look out for rochdale as a dark horse... 37 years in the Rochdale division, theres no telling what might happen, the genie is out of the bottle!! Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, May 31, 2010, 08:48:20 about right apart from peterborough and brighton should both be mid table nobodies Posh have so far kept their squad together and signed Grant Mcann who was excellent at this level with Scunny. Apparently they've signed a decent RB from Wolves as well so they should be there or there abouts I reckon if they can keep Mclean and Mckail-Smith. Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: jonny72 on Monday, May 31, 2010, 08:56:48 Aren't Notts Country likely to be in the shit financially some time soon after spending all that money their new owners promised that never materialised? Or has someone else bailed them out? Plus they've lost their manager, keeper and will most likely lose some more. I had them down for a relegation battle.
Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Monday, May 31, 2010, 08:59:08 Why should we be longer odds than Huddersfield and Charlton? Oh yes, I just remembered. We're carrot crunching six fingered inbreds from down the M4..silly me
Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: Batch on Monday, May 31, 2010, 09:14:21 At least we are getting more respect from the bookies than this time last year.
We all know the odds are meaningless. Nobody knows what the squads will be come August. Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: Arriba on Monday, May 31, 2010, 09:27:03 can't see past southampton personally.shit price on them though

We're carrot crunching six fingered inbreds from down the M4..silly me  not to mention Brighton, who we finished 23 points ahead of. Poyet will fuck off first chance he gets anyway. Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: dell boy on Monday, May 31, 2010, 10:56:39 Sheff Wed look huge at 13/2 and Uddersfield at 8/1 they would be my two picks there squads will be strong and probably invest.
Southampton no thanks - Charlton are in desperate financial crisis, no chance. Brentford each way at 20/1 is worth a flutter. Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: Dr Pierre Chang on Monday, May 31, 2010, 11:14:18 Sheff Wed look huge at 13/2 and Uddersfield at 8/1 they would be my two picks there squads will be strong and probably invest. Agreed.Brentford each way at 20/1 is worth a flutter. I think Peterborough are certain to be up there, great attacking options if they keep hold of them and already made a couple of good additions and no doubt more to follow. Add to that a very good manager in Gary Johnson and I think they will be very strong next season. Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: Summerof69 on Monday, May 31, 2010, 11:49:25 Charlton are in a financial mess, and there is talk that they might still go into admin despite the money from Shelvey.
Sheff Wed is still got a £30m debt and in a financial mess. With Peterborough, again, the owners money seemingly has run dry, as he's not spent very much in the last two years, due to his timeshare business in Spain is not doing very well due to the recession. Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: adje on Monday, May 31, 2010, 12:03:17 Now time to forget about next season for at least a month,I think.

Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: The_Plagiarist on Monday, May 31, 2010, 16:16:29 rovers look like mid table shite again as for the muppet who said brentford? what the hell has got into you? Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: reeves4england on Monday, May 31, 2010, 17:32:36 The bookies were tipping Brentford as dark horses this season. They were never ever going to finish above mid-table. It's far too early to know anything about next year as players have barely started moving clubs. Makes it a good time to put a bet on if you know something others don't, otherwise it's always going to be a massive stab in the dark.
Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: Reeves for King on Monday, May 31, 2010, 22:10:59 I'd wait for betting personally, god knows what'll happen. If we lose Paynter then we'll drift out.
League 2 is the one to bet on, the prices are all massive even for the favourites Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: joteddyred on Monday, May 31, 2010, 22:15:01 rovers look like mid table shite again mid table shite who somehow managed to take 6 points off us this season! Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: Talk Talk on Monday, May 31, 2010, 22:16:09 mid table shite who somehow managed to take 6 points off us this season! Don't. Please, just don't. That was almost as bad as Saturday. Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: joteddyred on Monday, May 31, 2010, 22:24:23 Don't. Please, just don't. That was almost as bad as Saturday. Perhaps worse in so much as we didn't deserve to lose both games. In fact, if we'd won them both as we probably should have, Saturday wouldn't have ever happened because we'd have gone up automatically! Oh no, I'm starting to go down the 'what if' road - will definitely stop now! :( Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: yeo on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, 01:26:04 I'd wait for betting personally, god knows what'll happen. If we lose Paynter then we'll drift out. League 2 is the one to bet on, the prices are all massive even for the favourites we wont, the bookies dont pay that much attention. Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: dell boy on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, 08:25:03 to be honest dell, your previous tips are mostly all wrong. I took 6/1 Millwall to win the play-offs back in March. Because of the Millwall bet I have ended up even this season after a disastrous period between December and March, the first time I haven't won for four or five years. I very really give my bets on this forum, only on odd occasions. Title: Re: League One Title Odds 2010/11 Post by: dell boy on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, 08:29:11 to be honest dell, your previous tips are mostly all wrong. Didn't realise it was as long ago as January. Here is my little post again. Value betting for a play-off place or automatic. Odds below (Corals) and my view on the value bets:- Leeds 1/6 Norwich 4/7 Charlton 5/4 Colchester 11/4 Huddersfield 7/2 Franchise 11/2 Swindon 11/2 Millwall 6/1 Southampton 7/1 Bristol Rovers 18/1 Walsall 18/1 Carlisle 20/1 __________________ below this line no chance: Hartlepool 28/1 Brentford 33/1 Southend 40/1 Brighton 40/1 Yeovil 40/1 Oldham 50/1 Gillingham 50/1 Leyton Orient 100/1 Exeter 125/1 Tranmere 300/1 Wycombe 750/1 Stockport 2500/1 1) Leeds look certain of automatic 2) It makes sense to believe Charlton or Norwich will take the other place, whoever misses out automatically will be no dead cert to go up via the play-offs all the pressure will be on them. 3) Swindon at 11/2 are very short imo and do not have the depth in the squad. Huddersfield have spent heavily this season and have the depth to make a steady challenge, but they loose too many for me. Colchester are over-rated again these are all my opinons. 4) So for me there are two good punts. Millwall and Southampton - Millwall have gone through a very sticky patch and had loads of injuries and expect them to start to produce a run, Southampton have depth and money to spend and are a match for anyone in this division, especially if they make the play-offs. So looking at the odds of 6/1 and 7/1 for those two, they are my choices to go up via the play offs. 5) By picking two now and at the end of the day it is really only perming 2 from a possible 8 candidates those odds will shorten three fold when it comes to the play-offs especially Southampton. |
