Title: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: pride_of_wilts on Friday, May 28, 2010, 15:46:43 How are you feeling about this game and about our chances? I'm 50/50 i'm not that confident being honest, I have no doubt we can win if we get the ball down and pass it and not play hoofball, If we play our best like at Leeds, Southampton etc we could win.
I admit we are up against a very good solid team who i admit are slightly better than us defensively, Morison is the one to worry about along with Harris, If our defence remains tight and Douglas breaks everything up in midfield and McGovern, Ward, Paynter & Austin are on top form i have no doubt whatsoever that we will win. Obviously there is the fact that Millwall might be more determined after losing in last year's Final but i'm hoping that will heap pressure on them, We aren't being backed by anyone to win this game, The media and all the bookies have Millwall as clear favourites, Again i hope that puts even more pressure on them and makes them bottle it, The way Millwall fan's and the media are going on you would think Millwall are guaranteed to win and we shouldn't even bother turning up! We are being written off by everyone, We are the underdogs let's go and shove it right back in their faces. Getting into the Championship would be amazing, More fan's will come and watch us next season and we will be £10 million better off should we get promotion, The whole town is going to be buzzing if we do it. Wish i could be there and let's hope we do it and finish the season on a massive high. I know we can do it. COME ON YOU REDS!!!! Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: pride_of_wilts on Friday, May 28, 2010, 16:00:27 you've got two options and you're wonderfully on the fence. what a worthy thing to start another thread with I'm being honest Bennett, I want us to win more than anything and in a way i'm confident but in a way i'm not, It's going to be a very tough game, I can't say oh yes we're definitely going to win without a doubt as anything could happen. I'm feeling extremely nervous, anxious & tense today. Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: The_Plagiarist on Friday, May 28, 2010, 16:01:30 I'm feeling quietly confident. I feel the underdog tag suits us more and takes the pressure off slightly maybe.
Wilson is an experienced manager, and a previous wembley winner himself, can't put a price on that sort of previous. As long as we go out and give our all then we've done ourselves proud. The team spirit has been immense this season and I hope theres one big push left in them yet. Cannot wait now. Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: Ardiles on Friday, May 28, 2010, 16:07:19 I'm apprehensive, but I have a strong feeling that we can do this. Finding it easier to visualise a win than to visualise a defeat.
Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: bigbobjoylove on Friday, May 28, 2010, 16:10:06 Easy win. 3-1 Town. Not a doubt in my mind.

Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, May 28, 2010, 16:17:42 Head says 1-0 or 2-1 defeat, heart says I hope we win of course but I feel we will lose, not nervous or excited at all.....100% due to me not being able to go tomorrow.
Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: stfctownenda on Friday, May 28, 2010, 16:26:14 Confident....head says 2-1 us and heart says 3-1 to us. I honestly believe we are a better team than them and will prove it tomorrow.

Post by: scott on Friday, May 28, 2010, 16:49:00 got the nervous/excited feeling at the moment but i honestly believe we're gonna do it . D.Wilson,A.Fitton & others behind the scenes are the best thing thats happened to this club in a long time. Dont know what Wilson does with this group of players but we seem to thrive on the big occasions - lets hope for one more almighty push/performance & we'll do it - i'll say 2-1. Reckon previous wembley records may count a bit aswell - they must hate the place !

Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: STFC Bart on Friday, May 28, 2010, 17:03:51 I am not just saying this because i am a town fan- but i also honestly believe that we are a better side than them- find it surprising we are the underdogs. The only area they are better than us is probably defence- our midfield is better and our front 2 have scored more than theirs combined.
The physical battle will determine wether or not we win the game- if we can match them for commitment and get the ball down i have no doubt that we will win. Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: Batch on Friday, May 28, 2010, 17:14:16 I am not sure if we will win or lose truth be told. But we have as much chance as Millwall.
IF the lads go out there and die for each other (figuratively speaking), then we can ask no more. This trip to Wembley is nice and all that, but lets do 'em and bring championship footy back to the County Ground. Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: axs on Friday, May 28, 2010, 17:17:28 I just don't have a clue. Can't even think about it.
Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: dogs on Friday, May 28, 2010, 17:30:20 Very hopeful, but that's about it. I see on the Millwall site Jack Smith is a cert to play. Come on Ward tear him a new one!
Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: DV on Friday, May 28, 2010, 17:46:33 I have a bad feeling about this.

I'm with the Bartmeister 8) I am optimistic as I generally tend to be but with good reason in this case I feel. Get Millwall away from The Den and out on to the wide open spaces of Wembley and I believe we will prove we are the better team. Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Friday, May 28, 2010, 18:03:21 Oh yeah, I've also had a feeling that some one 'unusual' is going to score the winner (i.e. some one who isn't Paynter, Austin or Ward)
Oooooh, have I jinxed everything by typing the words 'score the winner'? ??? Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: wiggy on Friday, May 28, 2010, 18:18:16 We can definitely do this. Just need to stay calm and pass it around them. Either Ward or O'Brien should be able to go past Jack Smith at will.

So your front 2 have scored more than ours combined? Correct but where do the rest of your goals come from? We have had a terrible injury record this year......and yours? I believe D. Wilson said in a recent interview that the reason you have done so well is because you have had a settled side? Do you agree with him? We have had goals throughout the side, i think everyone in the starting eleven have scored this year, can you say the same? I think you rely too much on your front 2 and if they dont deliver you struggle? I personally dont think your defence will be able to contain us especially with your captain out, but saying that i do think it will be a tight game and possible could be won in the middle of the park! I just pray it doesnt go to penalties!! Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Greer being out won't make much difference, He was your best player at the Den, I'm sure we can cope without him. Don't under-estimate our attack, When on form McGovern, Ward, Austin & Paynter are much more than a handful, Our defence isn't bad either i admit your's is slightly stronger but we haven't conceded that many goals this season. Lucas playing is a big boost for us and if Sheehan plays then even better, You can look forward to Amankwaah playing tomorrow and he's very dangerous going forward with his pace. Amankwaah & Cuthbert didn't play the other week at The Den but they will be tomorrow. Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: DV on Friday, May 28, 2010, 19:20:57 We dont get enough goals from midfield but Danny Ward has scored 4 in his last 4 and is always a danger.
We've had mainly a settled side but we've still had injuries, Big Kev has missed games, so has Greer, Cuthbert and Sheehan. Lucas as well. Paynter has missed a few as well. Nothing major but the whole point of a squad is cover injuries. Unless you lose 6 or 7 of your starting XI its just a lame excuse. I dont know what our defence will be like, but you have to remember Cuthbert didnt play at your place the other week and he is our best defender. How LJF plays is anyones guess. He'll be shit or the best centre back ever.,,, One of the main reasons our goals haven't been spread around the team is because they haven't needed to be. I did agree with Bart. But we're destined to lose now thanks to your blatant disregard for the club, it's fans and our big day out with that monumental slip. Edit: Kot MUST remember to start that thread. Or we could be doomed from the start. [I almost made a slip worse than OST then...] Title: Re: Are you feeling confident/pessimistic? Post by: OOH!
