Title: We Need An Old Pro Post by: walrus on Monday, June 13, 2005, 12:56:21 Dean Windass. What do you think of this guy? I used to hate his fat, pie-munching, gloating face but was watching the Masters Football on SS1 this morning and I could only stop and admire him. He just loves playing football, and has tremendous ability with the ball, notably being a fantastic finisher. I was surprised to see him playing given that he's playing another season with Bradford, but such is his passion for the game.
We need a geniune character, a Mooney-esque player. Reeves should fill this role but he's too quiet a leader, not forceful enough or exciting enough to get the crowd going and force the team to play. Maybe I'm just missing Mooney, but he really did used to make all the difference. I am loathe to think that he did not care for this club having seen the incensed look on his face as he tried to gee the crowd up, and how he used to dive into header's just to score (goal at Plymouth springs to mind).
