Post by: mrdc19 on Saturday, May 22, 2010, 13:44:00
Really want to get some but the club don't have any and have no plans to get any more...

Any ideas where I can get one from?

Why not get the white one? I've heard they're quite popular at the moment.

You could always just buy the plain red version (plenty of sites on the web selling them) then write "Swindon Town" in black marker pen on it. Or maybe they sell iron on badges in the shop, so you could make your own.

Or staple one of those town crest air fresheners on it.

I am actually a Bristol City season ticket holder.......

The shirt is actually for my girlfriend who has supported the club for a good couple of years but has only been able to start watching live games over the last couple of months after having an operation to improve her sight.

I went to the club shop this morning and it was rammed. What I couldn't quite get over were 2 cunts in Liverpool shirts and a dirty monger in a Chelsea shirt. I hope they got charged double.

Hmmm...this is quite interesting as earlier today i went to the club shop with a mate to get some flags, scarves and some other memorabilia for the kids etc, and in front of me in the queue was a bloke and his kid (who was wearing a Chelsea shirt) who was having a right go at the young lass serving on the counter as there were no replica shirts left. In fact he was very rude to the girl to say the least. One of his last lines was something like ' What sort of club has no shirts left for fans for a big game?' I heard enough and had to say something. I politely asked him why if he was such a fan why was he wanting a shirt now as opposed to the previous 9 months of the season? Not for him he said, but for his boy who was a keen town fan (you know, the one wearing a Chelsea shirt). I wish these plastics would all just fuck off. I'm in a pissy because been in the pub all afternoon watching the Blackpool/Cardiff game wearing my Swindon shirt, in Swindon, yet still a few cretins had to have a pop i.e. ' oh look there's another Swindon fan thats suddenly appeared from nowhere. God i really wanted to punch someone today. Can't help feel the club got it totally wrong with the ticket set up. Nothing against season ticket holders getting first dibs, but 6 tickets each? 2 or 3 i could understand but so many ST holders have brought 6 or 12 tickets for people who never come to the CG and we end up with these cretins in the club shop. I hope all the true fans who were at Gillingham away etc get the chance to get a ticket.

So you can't stand the "plastics" who are jumping on the bandwagon, but more than happy to line the pockets of some dodgy scouser who's got no connection with the club at all and is just cashing in on someone else's success? There's probably some logic there somewhere but I'm damned if I can see it.

It is frustrating that there will be 30,000 swindon fans at wembley on saturday yet we struggled to get above 6,000 for some home matches this season and only averaged 8,000.

A lot of that 30,000 are just going for a day out and wont really care too much whether we win or lose, but they will be supporting our lads on the day and if the sight of all those fans helps inspire the team to victory then that can only be a good thing.

Some will hopefully catch the STFC bug and become supporters for life. Oh they don't know what they are getting themselves into!

I know somebody who was a season ticket holder for years, then got their seat moved for no good reason by the club so she told them to stick it up their arse - literally!  She watched the Charlton game on Sky last Monday, got Wembley tickets and now her and her son are getting season tickets for next season!  So it does work for some.  Perhaps, just perhaps, win or lose on Saturday the club should sell discounted season tickets say for one week only next week, see if we could entice a few more back.
