Title: STFC's Worst Eleven
Post by: Kinky Tom on Monday, June 13, 2005, 11:22:52
OK, being as it's been very slow over the last few days I thought I'd start a worst eleven thread.

Being as there are quite a few young members I thought we'd limit it to the start of the season after the Premiership up to now.

Changing teh subject a bit we had this left back turn up last season ona  sunday, I was naturally wrecked and he gave it teh big one, had nice new boots said he use to be on carlisles books! Wanky manager gave him a run out and after 12 mins he got taken off and asher was back..

now he was the worst player ever.

Swindon - kilcline????

tbf daves spot on with that team.

Title: STFC's Worst Eleven
Post by: Kinky Tom on Monday, June 13, 2005, 11:39:29
I'm going for:

Talia

Mark Robinson - Captain
Jason Drysdale
Marco Toumela
Brian Kilcline

Matthew Hewlett
Frazer McHugh
Bobby Howe
Joey Beauchamp

Lloyd Opara
Jamie Slabber - Note, was Alan Young, but changed my mind.

Subs:

Kim Heiselberg - he of the permanent foul throw.
Gary Elkins
Jimmy Glass
Mark McCammon
Neale Fenn

Looking at a team like that fills me with optimism for the following campaign.  There's no way, no matter what happens, that we will be as bad as this team would be.

Oh dear.  I was only young at the time, that could have clouded my judgement.  A bit like Joey.  I thought he was a good player, even if he was a rather girly scummer.

Title: STFC's Worst Eleven
Post by: Kinky Tom on Monday, June 13, 2005, 11:45:21
Trouble is I couldn't really think of another player bad enough to play on the left wing, so it had to be Joey really.

division 4 - bottom? don't think you get relegated though coz the league is being restructured. we finished 4th in division 5 and are getting promoted, so i could be playing against you next year!

We were awful at times, Were not bad individuals but as a team no one plays! It was shocking at tiems however next year I think teh aim is to get at least 2 players sober! plus I am aiming at right back had enough of left back

we'll be in division 6 next season i think (finished 3rd in div 7 last year) we beat intermach engineering (see piemonte's league) 4-0 yesterday in a friendly. i lashed home our second on the volley, it wouldv'e been rude not to.

asher stay left back then you can mark me (if you can catch me   )

i think we played you a few season's ago & it was pissing down with rain, a proper hailstorm, and it was 4-4 or something. do you play over pinehurst way?

Le God - Youra  marked man! Just remind me before the game and id wear shin pads!!!  Yeah teh grounds over there cant really rememebr that game but sounds familiar us letting in four goals anyway!

Post by: Piemonte on Monday, June 13, 2005, 14:55:20
Cheers LGC, didnt realise the FA site did stats too, how cool is that??

Its there in black and white, i failed to score last season. It dosnt show that I hit the bar with a 20 yard pliedriver though on a rare occasion I made it into the opositions 3rd of the pitch.

Dex - Intermach were shite, but really really dirty. hence why they finished above us. Our first game this season got abandoned when their centre forward sparked out our keeper as a corner came in. Both teams were already down to 10 men by that point after a first half punch up.  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

I love sunday league :D

I was considering reverting back to 'Beadles Hand' now Dave is discounted.

I played for Royston teh season before last, then no one last season.

Ash, i'm a left back, so i'd have to displace you.

Oi, Right firstly you wont replace me, secondly I play with both feet and both are as crap as each other and thirdly I add comical value to teh team like pulling teh west indies turban and dreadlocks last season - classic

Yeah we'll be in division 6 as well, top 5 teams from 7 went up to fill gaps...

We are a very good side on our day, sadly we are a very good passing side which is difficult on the shit pitches we play on.

One of our players now has his level 2 fa coaching badge, so hopefully we'll train better and be a bit fitter and stronger next season.

The futures purple!!!

Dave B - I play for Royston now, wouldnt have been there when you were there....how was it?

Drysdale £340'000

Gary Elkins £100'000

If Bullock had cost 100,000 I wouldn't have minded so much.  He wasn't awful like the others were, just occasionally a thug.

Yeah, see Frank McAvennie falls just short of the first season allowed, so we don't even have to think of him, or Terry Fenwick, or Dave Webb, or Laurie Sanchez (although he did get an assist for one of Jan's best goals of the season away at Blackburn), I mean I could go on...

Blinkpip put Brian Borrows in his side... he was a class act.

You can't put Whitbread in the side just because of that injury time scrambled winner against Spurs.

Drysdale is the worst player I've ever seen in a Town shirt.

I'm sorry, but no worst 11 is complete without Leigh Barnard in midfield !

Gotta think that Nestor Lorenzo should be centreback considering the amount we paid for him !

Andy Mutch might be worth a shout up front too !

Chris Ramsey misses out at left back just because he was a legend. He is the only left back I have ever seen get caught out of position from the kick off and therefore 'have' to tackle a right winger round the waist and get sent off in the first minute ! Class !!!!

Andy Mutch was no great shakes but I'll never forget his last minute equaliser at Coventry, his cartwheel celebration at home V Newcastle and his 2 goals v Millwall in the League Cup-come to think of it the guy was a legend!
