Supervisor is on paternity leave, one has just finished their two week notice and I work in a small store so that's why I've not managed to get the time off. I imagine the best I can do is start at 7 and finish 3:30.

I would prefer to say that I'm in Spain, USA, Mongolia etc but it's HMV for me.

They all know exactly how I feel about it, but to get back to the Dorset Somerset border before 8 is a little unlikely, I have run every scenario through my head in the last 2 weeks and I have unfortunatly settled on the fact I will miss it, I am going to stop my mates txting me and watch the game on sky+ when I get home as if it was live.

Putting it into perspective, I'll be sitting in a hotel bar, overlooking the pyramids, watching the game.

Whilst I'm pissed off to be missing out, it could be worse.

I'll be drinking San Miguel or Estrella Damm in a seedy worn down Spanish Bar but will be cheering fucking loud.

Not being able to go is one thing.

But not being able to watch it down the pub 'cos of a curfew will be a reet kick in the nuts, there'd better not be a curfew next week.

Hi Wiggy, two whippets both about 8 - one is a tiny whippet bred for racing that we recently 'adopted'. Luckily, the one that had the accident was insured. He is well hard - he didn't wimper and he still tried to chase a cat with his broken leg - think I'll change his name to Millwall - oooops not on this thread   :D :D :D

I'm not going as we have family visiting. Was going to go with all of us, but turned out to be too expensive. Am gutted but hey thats life unfortunately. Do you think the club will show the game, or any recommendations where to watch in swindon with kids?

Look, put it this way, these family whoever they are might be driving 200 miles but we might not get to Wembley for another 20 years. Or if you're too scared to argue your case, do it the bottlers way. Buy a ticket, get your train/lift booked, don't tell her, then Sat morning tell her you're popping out for some ciggies, then text her from Wembley :)

Been invited to a wedding? If there good friends i'd sure they would understand. ( I missed a mates wedding to go to Leeds away, we won 3-0, i've never questioned that decision. In fact people who get married in the season are cunts.

Biggest game in nearly 20 years and some of the excuse's not to go beggar belief. I know football is not life or death, its much more important than that!

Ultimately, I didn't plan for the Play-Offs and it's something I will have to regret until we got there again, IF we got there again! I must say I'd prefer to be on holiday so I could watch it in the sun.

Work has ruined this season for me as I've also missed all my nearest awaydays too (all wins!)... I am currently looking for new employers.

Few years ago I went to a wedding local to Swindon, saw the ceremony bit, then dived out to the County Ground for the second half and back to the wedding for desert.  to this day my friend thinks I was poorly.

mate has gotta wedding at 2pm in richmond, he is getting on the back of our mates motorbike at 240pm-ish and heading up to wembley-he got his ticket today-he is filming the day on a handycam-he will then be picked up after the game on motorbike and be sat down for the starters at 530pm.....assuming no ET&pens.....he has the grooms approval....he has got lucky

Maybe I read it wrong but I would imagine that some one who is prepared to go to those lengths to get to the game is going to end up with about 5 minutes of wedding footage and 3 hours of getting to the game/the game/getting back from the game..just guessing 8)

I can get to London and back using the Megabus for about £30 which is okay.

I concur totally, it looks like I will be able to get out of the reception at the sis in laws wedding for the last 10 mins of the game so I can at least see the final whistle and maybe ET and pens if it happens.

Technically no ... as lunch should be consumed well before 3pm the contents of the sandwich boxes etc will not be going to Wembley (note the use of the capital W for future reference). Should you counterclaim that they will be there albeit inside those going to Wembley I would point out that having been taken from the boxes or wrappings and masticated they will no longer actually be packed lunches. Indeed, the term unpacked lunches would also be a misnomer since it is expected that their transmogrification into excrement would be quite well advanced.

Well in that case, I shall be taking two sandwiches (probably cheese and ham, both with salad), a banana, an apple and possibly a Muller Rice. These will be packed in a sainsburys carrier bag and all items will be consumed before I get to the big W.

In that case I plan on eating nothing except a manky old banana, this worked for me at Charlton, though I left it in the car and had it after the game - have another manky one lined up for Sat, just need to remember not to consume on the way up

If things work for all of us on Saturday much as some of you might feel like having it in the car after the game it would probably be safer to wait until you get home. Alternatively find somewhere discreet to park up. The same applies to those of you on the coaches and trains.
