Conference rules require them to pay all creditors in full by 2nd Sat in May (as they went into admin during the season). They haven't and so they've been booted out of the Conference, effectively demoting them at least two divisions. Incredibly harsh especially as the Conference are due to change the rules at their AGM in June to new regs which Salisbury's CVA would comply with.

Unlikely I'd have thought, they're hanging judges in the Conference. And anyway, the primary aim of these rules is to ensure that each year Forest Green can get relegated and reprieved because someone or other has fallen foul of the financial regs and been kicked out.

Yeah, but they've been taken over by new owners since then. They had their 10 points deduction for entering admin under the old lot, then got taken over. And it was the new lot who had to arrange the CVA, do the financial restructuring etc. And just when they get everything back on an even keel they get walloped with this.

To be fair to Forest Green, I think that has happened once (2004/5?) during their 12 seasons in the Conference.

Well it will be twice this season. I wasn't really having a go at FGR, though, it was supposed to be tongue in cheek. But actually now I think about it, I might have been confusing them with Altrincham. Bugger.

I like Forest Green Rovers but it would be seriously unfair on Salisbury if they were relegated two divisions for the financial mess the previous board got them into.  Salisbury had a really good season this year, but for the points deduction they would have finished 6th in the BSP.  Not bad for a small team from Wiltshire.

We've been in trouble several times since 1990, bigger trouble and nobody wanted to know about Swindon. That's the bitter version of events I have anyway.

I've said it before, I'll sign petitions and put a couple of quid in a bucket but realistically what more can I/we do?

It's nothing to do with the FA (read the start of the thread), it's the Conference applying their own rules to the absolute letter, devoid of any common sense or regard for the circumstances. Though how they do this to Salisbury when they were quite happy to let the Vaughans continue to wreck Chester all last season in flagrant breach of both Conference and FA regs is wholly beyond rational explanation.

The Conference is a mess, Brian Lee and whoever else run it are doing a terrible job. Nobody down there trusts the administration, due to their continued cock ups and bias throughout the years.

That's quite scary.  Still remember it all vividly even though it was 20 years ago.  I was just going round to a neighbour's to babysit when the news came though we'd been demoted.  I remember half our street being out in the road and a number of people hysterically crying.  My dad and a couple of the other blokes shot off down the County Ground and were gone for hours.  Then there were the protest marches, the stickers most of Swindon had in their cars 'First Not Third' and all the graffiti that sprung up around the Town about Brian Hillier!

Salisbury were never going to win that appeal. A great shame, it was worrying to think they were only one division below us at one point! I wish the Chippenham vs. Salisbury rivalry well.
