Title: Greer and Cuthbert
Post by: STFC4LIFE on Monday, May 10, 2010, 20:11:34
Sorry if this has already been posted, I haven't been on for a while.

But i've been told a few times that the reason Cuthbert has been dropped is due to quite a serious falling out with Greer at the Wycome game, apparently a few punches were thrown and they haven't made up since.
Has anyone else heard anything about this?

I thought he had a slight knock? However i may be talking bull.

I think DW is resting him for the play offs.

He'll play friday i bet you.

You may be right Tans, but a few people have said it on separate occasions so I thought i'd see if anyone on here had heard anything.

I heard that Cutthroat has been shagging Greer's pet iguana on the quiet.

Gordon is not happy.

I saw what went on at Wycombe and it was just verbals as they walked off at half time, after a while Cuthbert gave up arguing and just walked off so they wouldn't of been close enough for a fight. Greer can be proper moody on the pitch sometimes and has had a few on pitch arguments with the likes of JFL and Sheehan so not really anything out of the ordinary.

If Wilson would drop possibly our best player this season for that then he has issues

In the warm up on Saturday at one point it looked like Cuthbert was struggling with an injury.

My guess (and I've got no inside info at all) is that he has an injury, but probably could play if/when required.

Few people have said they saw Cuthbert limp off after the warm-up Sat. Think this is the old 2+2=5 tbh

I would be limp for weeks if I had just rogered an iguana.

Hmmmm My friend is moving into the house Cuthbert is currently renting....He was looking for something smaller in the town. Dates for the move were vague as we didnt know if we were in playoffs and stuff... but then last week she got the go ahead for the 31st of May cos the current tenent is moving back to Scotland. We just laughed it off as nothing.... i love gossip

Greer and Cuthbert exchanged words walking off the pitch at half time at Wycombe but like others have said, Cuthbert gave up and walked off. We don't know what went on in the dressing room though.

At the end of the day though, these are professionals and Danny Wilson wouldn't drop one of our best players because of a few handbags.

Cuthbert hasn't been at his previous high standards recently though has he ? Whether he is carrying a knock I don't know.

He's still not played as badly as JFL did on saturday

From Miss Angrys story it just sounds like at the the end of the season he's going back home for part of his holidays...

Taking into account that saturday could have been an important promotion clash Wilson would have to be bloody stupid to drop our best defender because of a falling out.

I assume Cuthbert isn't 100%

Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham didn't even talk to each other at Manchester United but still played together.

One of the lasses in the club shop said Cuthers is looking for a new house in Swindon, so yeah that going back to Scotland thing is probably nothing. Pretty sure he's not been fully fit for a few weeks now. No worries peeps.

Agreed, thought JFL was excellent first half and woeful second half.  He just misread long ball after long ball in the 2nd half and got torn apart by Morrison on the 2nd goal.

JFL, JLF or LJF or whatever he's called had a bad game on saturday. We need Cuthbert back for friday for sure.

I'd also start big Kev instead of Darby.

LJF got his positioning wrong for the second because he was caught between trying to cover centre half and the left bank spot for Sheehan, who had gone missing.
I'd be happy to see Cuthbert back but iIf we want to really go for it on Friday I'd like to see LJF ahead of Sheehan for left back. I don't think it will happen though..

Isn't it about Lex being left footed and Greeer right footed so it gives a bit of extra balance - but I'd still go Cuthbert on Fri I worry about Lex

Don't think thats right as it was a long ball played so both full backs were higher up the pitch as it was a counter attack from Milwall, also the man who had pulled into the wide role was Morrison so centre half (Lescinel) should of followed him out there.  Don't know if it was tiredness, mental concentration or just crumbling in the big occasion but Lescinel went from having an outstanding first half to a very poor second half.  I'd bring Cuthbert back in.

It was tiredness. He slept the whole way home on the coach and then had an early night.

Cuthbert has been quality all season...i remember them games we kept drawing and he was our best player most of the early season....Lescinel gets out of position at times and makes the odd mistake but he gets forward alot as well that pulls opposition defenders away.........Cuthbert along with Douglas would always be my first two names on the team sheet.

We need Cuthbert back on Friday but only if he's fully fit. I think both games are going to be very tight and one defensive mistake could cost us a place in the final. We've had our fair share of those in recent weeks, hopefully they are now out of the system!

Agreed. Now is the time for the big names to step up. I love Lecsy but Scott C has been immense (Walsall aside) this season.

I'd definitely have JFL at LB instead of Sheehan who has looked pretty crap since coming back from injury.

I expect to see Cutthroat and Sheahan starting.  Pericard will be unavailable with a ham string injury.  Like to see Manky start in front of Darby.

Lucas
Manky
Greer
Cutthroat
Sheahan
JPM
Douglas
Ferry
Ward
Charlie
Paynter

I wouldn't. I don't think sheehan has been great since the injury, but LJF is a liability at left back.

Agreed, and Sheehan offers more going forward.

Kev simply has to start at right back. Sadly I don't think he will.
