Title: Soton V Oldham
Post by: Sippo on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 07:18:57
If the Saints fail to beat the Latics tonight, we are guaranteed a play-off place?

They will win though.

I work with a Southampton fan and an Oldham fan.  The Southampton fan has given up already, while the Oldham fan is right up for it.  Hopefully the players will follow the fans' lead.

I work with a Southampton fan who's convinced they can still make it. I told him the old line "It's not the disappointment that gets you, it's the hope", to which he replied "If you give up on hope, you give up on life". Response: "Welcome to League One, you've finally got it" :)

One of my best mates is a Saints fan and hes convinced they can and will still get in the play offs, not at our expense though at Huddersfields.

Hes also convinced that if, heaven forbid, they don't get in the play offs they will piss the league next year.

I can't see them making it.
Even if they beat Oldham tonight, they will still be 5 points from 6th place with only 3 games to go.

I agree they will romp this league next year though, and so they should, given they've spent around £3M on players.

They will fail to make the playoffs this year. I'm 99% certain of that, and that's what you get if you start on -10 and don't get a single win your first 10 games.

Brilliant news... 3 games left and a guarenteed Play-Off place.

Happy with that.

That in itself is a fantastic bloody season. But we don't want to give you that .....

Well looking at things today its an incredible achievement really..maybe the last two matches have been a little frustrating but if we can win our next two who knows.....its going to be a good journey whatever over the next few weeks.

No pressure now, a great achievement by the whole club.

Hopefully the players will relax now and we can hopefully push for 2nd.
