Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: dogs on Monday, April 19, 2010, 20:51:48 Wonder how long it'll be before they are sub 5-6k attendances again.
Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, April 19, 2010, 20:54:28 Wonder how long it'll be before they are sub 5-6k attendances again. Not long. The visits of Rochdale et al will scare many of their "Well, I support Liverpool really" fans back to the sofa and pub. Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, April 19, 2010, 20:57:57 Not long. The visits of Rochdale et al will scare many of their "Well, I support Liverpool really" fans back to the sofa and pub. I don't think we're in too much of a position to mock other clubs about their attendances. Sarfend and the Dongs had more than us on Sat.... Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, April 19, 2010, 20:59:58 Was I mocking?
I lived in Plymouth, I worked with MANY of them. They went from Red Gerrard shirts to Argyle-4-Life within a blink of a promotion. I only went to Home Park a few times when I was down there, the first with a 20,000 attendance.... Replacing him with Paul Mariner was never going to help either! Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, April 19, 2010, 21:06:01 I saw the New England Revolution play when Mariner was Steve Nicol's assistant... To be honest they played some good football which was without doubt Championship standard.
The damage was very much done when Mariner arrived. Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Batch on Monday, April 19, 2010, 21:07:44 Meh, either way they deserve relegation for nicking our manager.
Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, April 19, 2010, 21:08:07 Meh, wither way they deserve relegation for nicking our manager. Exactly. Sarfend and the Dongs had more than us on Sat.... Southend were doing 1 adult and 1 child tickets for a total of £5. Franchise also had more empty seats than us.Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: DV on Monday, April 19, 2010, 21:50:21 Plus I bet Brighton took more to Southend than Walsall bought here.

Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: crystall Tips on Monday, April 19, 2010, 22:10:30 Wot I couldn't understand about their game tonight was why they allowed so much Newcastle celebration - even helping them along by playing 'we are the champions' - home club just relegated an all.
wouldn't put up with that at the CG - tell them to get lost and go and celebrate somewhere else if it ever happens here. Not like the good old Rikki Hunt days when we gave Sunderland fans, the club that gladly took our place in the old 1st Division in 1990, both the Townend and Stratton Bank in 1998 so we could fill the ground and take the cash. Still at least Sunderland fucked it up in the playoffs on pens Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 00:02:06 Plus I bet Brighton took more to Southend than Walsall bought here. Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Melksham Red on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 07:25:45 I have always had proper dislike for Plymouth. So much so they're in my top 10. A nasty bunch and there's always some aggro with them. Glad to see them coming back down where they belong.
Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 07:37:32 It was the Newcastle celebrations that got me, they was celebrating get out of the Championship - a league they shouldn't have been in in the first place if they had not had so much mis management - I'm sure the chairman is now loved again

(without the chairman being loved obviously) Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Colin Todd on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 08:06:26 It was the Newcastle celebrations that got me, they was celebrating get out of the Championship - a league they shouldn't have been in in the first place if they had not had so much mis management - I'm sure the chairman is now loved again Thats a bit harsh, I think newcastle fans are entitled to a bit of happiness after the last few years. I'm pretty sure they realise they havnt just won the champions league. Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Bob's Orange on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 08:09:24 A bit like us when we got out of the 4th division then ? (without the chairman being loved obviously) I saw nothing wrong with the celebrations. What do you expect them to do, stand and applaud politely and then file away to their trains/buses up to Newcastle? Everyone was laughing at them when they got relegated, even on here saying they didn't expect them to get back into the Premiership and that their support would drop drastically. Haven't looked at the stats but they must have averaged 40k in the second tier in England and probably have the best away support as well. No idea why people are so against Newcastle, they thoroughly spanked the Championship this season and deserved their celebrations. Fair play to Plymouth for allowing the celebrations as well, they should be applauded. Home Park holds 19630. 2009/10 attendances: Highest = 14,792 Average = 9,780 Lowest = 7,243 That's a poor average for a club that thinks it's a monster in waiting. Averages of 8-9000 next season though I would expect. Just for the LOLz, Oxford are only 2000 average behind your 7000. http://www.mikeavery.co.uk/Attendance%20Tables%20Median%202009-10.htm Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 10:36:52 our average is over 8.
Title: Re: Plymuff Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 10:47:19 For the second half of the season maybe. Our attendances have been steadily rising, but 7000 sounds about right to me.
