Classic Vincent performance. Totally one-dimensional - a reliable defensive performer, but that's where it ends. Good for a struggling side, or a side lacking in ambition, but no more.

Cuthbert's error seemed to be a carbon-copy of Colchester. Not making excuses but at this time of the year the pitches are drying out and the ball gets stuck under players' feet, and that seemed to happen today I think. I hated playing at this time of the year, give me a slick surface any-day.

Vincent was the most under rated player we've had in many a year. His move to centre half allowed us to just cross over the fimishing line on Div 4. He was a defender - he defended and cleared his lines. For our current style of play thats not enough and both he and us have moved on but he's pretty dependable as a defender.

Absolutely - we could rely on him defensively in that poor league, then when more was required he was out the door.

This is further backed-up by the fact that in his career he's been given a couple of opportunities at bigger clubs but was quickly shoved back down to the lower leagues again.

He served his purpose for us.

I got the impression people were telling the team they had a fantastic opportunity in terms of the promotion race. Unfortunately it didn't work.

Vincent played a big part in where we are now as his return from injury last year gave us some much needed defensive stability (along with Greer) to keep us in League 1. The bloke came back straight into the team with no reserve games and a knee that was far from right and played out the rest of the season.

Don't know if was non football reasons as maybe DW wanted to push the team on and in the same way he let Jack Smith go as he felt he was a decent pro who deserved to be playing 1st team football, rather than wasting away in the reserves. Think the same could be applied to JV despite his unsavoury end of season party incident.

liked vincent as a player for us.nothing fancy, just solid, and a great talker too.

our conceeded goal was a couple of errors really.cuthbert didn't really need the ball given to him like that,but will be disapointed he didn't deal with it.

I think as you rightly say it was more to do with his off field antics at the end of season do. If Ady Williams was released from his position for similar, then you can't expect Vincent to stay.

Much as everybody else on here, he was a good solid pro, but by comparision he was unlikely to get into this seasons team.

personally think we should have let wardy loose on vincent as he would have done him for pace without a doubt and come inside and had a pop at goal etc...

2) After viewing it on tv Cuthbert is clearly looking at Lucas as Lucas passed it back to him, and he could've dealt with it. I'm not knocking him - he's had an awesome season.

Vincent's little episode obviously didn't do him any favours, but he's just not DW's type of player anyway. He has not kept one player that doesn't offer too much with the ball at their feet, he got rid of them all.
