Title: Jamie Vincent Post by: tans on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 17:28:27 Good to see his style of play hasn't changed.
Hoof! Also what's with the singing of "we all hate Leeds scum?". We were playing Walsall for fuck sake. Didn't get the booing either, I know it was a crap performance but the mongs that booed was a bit far. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: DV on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 17:31:06 As well as hoofing he let fuck all past him.
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Dr Pierre Chang on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 17:34:17 Also what's with the singing of "we all hate Leeds scum?". We were playing Walsall for fuck sake. Was cringeworthy.Vincent had a solid game to be fair to him. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Luci on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 17:34:54 He had a better game than Cuthbert for sure! :D
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Bogus Dave on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 17:37:58 Vincenté was outstanding
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Bogus Dave on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 18:01:05 Good to see his style of play hasn't changed. Hoof! And maybe if cuthbert had hoofed it we wouldn't have gone in behind at half time... Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: tans on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 18:01:47 This is true
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 18:04:51 And maybe if cuthbert had hoofed it we wouldn't have gone in behind at half time... Lucas should have hoofed it and not passed it to Cuthbert. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 18:07:21 I think, if we're attributing blame for their goal, that Lucas was to blame for the cock up
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: tans on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 18:08:33 I thought you and Bennett blamed me
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: BANGKOK RED on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 18:09:56 I blame those Icelanders.
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: DV on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 19:10:20 Cuthbert should have hoofed it clear instead of passing it to Lucas.
Lucas should have hoofed it clear instead of passing it back to Cuthbert Probably the worst goal we've let in all season? Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 19:53:08 I thought you and Bennett blamed me Oh yeah, definitely your fault, and then you had the cheek to boo! ;) Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 20:17:34 Probably the worst goal we've let in all season? Just saw it on SSN....oh dear :emo: Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: One F In Fitton on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 22:34:36 Classic Vincent performance. Totally one-dimensional - a reliable defensive performer, but that's where it ends. Good for a struggling side, or a side lacking in ambition, but no more.
Cuthbert's error seemed to be a carbon-copy of Colchester. Not making excuses but at this time of the year the pitches are drying out and the ball gets stuck under players' feet, and that seemed to happen today I think. I hated playing at this time of the year, give me a slick surface any-day. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: chalkies_shorts on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 22:56:01 Vincent was the most under rated player we've had in many a year. His move to centre half allowed us to just cross over the fimishing line on Div 4. He was a defender - he defended and cleared his lines. For our current style of play thats not enough and both he and us have moved on but he's pretty dependable as a defender.
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: One F In Fitton on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 23:24:43 Absolutely - we could rely on him defensively in that poor league, then when more was required he was out the door.
This is further backed-up by the fact that in his career he's been given a couple of opportunities at bigger clubs but was quickly shoved back down to the lower leagues again. He served his purpose for us. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: tans on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 08:54:16 Oh yeah, definitely your fault, and then you had the cheek to boo! ;) Cheeky bastard! Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 11:12:55 He was a good player for us. He was out to prove a point yesterday, and played fairly well.
But he wasnt let go for football reasons was he? We were starting to look like wife beaters united with him and Adi Williams at the back. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Bennett on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 11:21:25 Cuthbert's error not being a fucking psychic and knowing lucas was going to be a clever dick?Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: axs on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 12:24:08 Good to see his style of play hasn't changed. Hoof! Also what's with the singing of "we all hate Leeds scum?". We were playing Walsall for fuck sake. Didn't get the booing either, I know it was a crap performance but the mongs that booed was a bit far. It was being sung when leeds went a goal down. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: tans on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 12:29:46 It was being sung when leeds went a goal down. I know that, but whats the point? Sing to support the team, not go on about some wanky northern wifebeater cunts. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 12:41:00 I got the impression people were telling the team they had a fantastic opportunity in terms of the promotion race. Unfortunately it didn't work.
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: axs on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 12:45:32 I know that, but whats the point? Sing to support the team, not go on about some wanky northern wifebeater cunts. So everyone knew they were losing. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Benzel on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 13:43:12 I fucking hated the fact the town end were singing about Leeds. HEY LADS, LEEDS ARE LOSING, NOW DON'T FUCK UP. No pressure or anything boys.
I wish I'd hit someone that booed. What a bunch of spastics. Oh and yeah, Vincent was solid. Glad I wasn't in the DRS though, my neck would've been killing. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Oaksey Moonraker on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 14:17:44 He was a good player for us. He was out to prove a point yesterday, and played fairly well. But he wasnt let go for football reasons was he? We were starting to look like wife beaters united with him and Adi Williams at the back. Vincent played a big part in where we are now as his return from injury last year gave us some much needed defensive stability (along with Greer) to keep us in League 1. The bloke came back straight into the team with no reserve games and a knee that was far from right and played out the rest of the season. Don't know if was non football reasons as maybe DW wanted to push the team on and in the same way he let Jack Smith go as he felt he was a decent pro who deserved to be playing 1st team football, rather than wasting away in the reserves. Think the same could be applied to JV despite his unsavoury end of season party incident. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Arriba on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 14:27:32 liked vincent as a player for us.nothing fancy, just solid, and a great talker too.
our conceeded goal was a couple of errors really.cuthbert didn't really need the ball given to him like that, but will be disapointed he didn't deal with it. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Crispy on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 15:05:34 The "all hate leeds scum" came from the "1/2/3-0 to the pikey boys" Gills beating leeds, not sure why we sung it though :/
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: Jimmy Glass is an Alien on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 15:26:08 Don't know if was non football reasons as maybe DW wanted to push the team on and in the same way he let Jack Smith go as he felt he was a decent pro who deserved to be playing 1st team football, rather than wasting away in the reserves. Think the same could be applied to JV despite his unsavoury end of season party incident. I think as you rightly say it was more to do with his off field antics at the end of season do. If Ady Williams was released from his position for similar, then you can't expect Vincent to stay. Much as everybody else on here, he was a good solid pro, but by comparision he was unlikely to get into this seasons team. Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: jimbob on Monday, April 19, 2010, 10:07:12 personally think we should have let wardy loose on vincent as he would have done him for pace without a doubt and come inside and had a pop at goal etc...
Title: Re: Jamie Vincent Post by: One F In Fitton on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 00:34:40 not being a fucking psychic and knowing lucas was going to be a clever dick? 1) You're an angry little fella aren't you! In need of a big, angry wank yesterday lunchtime?? 2) After viewing it on tv Cuthbert is clearly looking at Lucas as Lucas passed it back to him, and he could've dealt with it. I'm not knocking him - he's had an awesome season. Vincent's little episode obviously didn't do him any favours, but he's just not DW's type of player anyway. He has not kept one player that doesn't offer too much with the ball at their feet, he got rid of them all.
