Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: STFC_Gazza on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:31:22 Personally I think Paul Ince is destined to be a lower league manager and not be able to get any success higher up.
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:37:06 Personally I think Paul Ince is destined to be a lower league manager and not be able to get any success higher up. I am inclined to agree, much the same as I think Roy Keane is similar. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: STFC_Gazza on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:41:28 I am inclined to agree, much the same as I think Roy Keane is similar. Keane, great player, shit manager. I believe his success at Sunderland to start with was just because "it was Roy Keane" much like when Dennis Wise was here becuase it was "Dennis Wise" and the same really at Macclesfield with Paul Ince, lets be honest. ok we got promoted with Wise but the squad that season was pretty shit, Brownlie, Shakes, Brown, Onibuje, Comyn-Platt etc. Only players I would want from that side now really would be Monkhouse, Jutkiewicz and a confident Jerel Ifil. Those managers commanded respect because of who they are. Where as a decent manager like Gary Johnson, Danny Wilson etc is because they have brought in decent players and got the team to gel. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Colin Todd on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:42:39 I'm surprised by his failure this season as proir to going to blackburn his record was pretty fucking good.
I think he's a good manager, albeit not ready for top level yet. Lets not forget wilson has failed at 2 or aguably 3 clubs. Sometimes it just dosnt happen for whatever reason. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: herthab on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:45:34 I'm not sure he has failed. They'll get a top 10 finish.
Didn't they sell their best player? (Puncheon) and rumours are of a dramatic cut in spending being introduced in order to try and halt the amount of debt that is spiralling. Hope they go bust, bunch of cunts. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: STFC_Gazza on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:47:13 I'm surprised by his failure this season as proir to going to blackburn his record was pretty fucking good. Hence my comment about being a decent lower league manager. Ince has done well in L1, and L2 to various degrees but couldnt cut if further up, much like Wilson hasn't cut it further up the leagues but has done well in the bottom 2. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Ginginho on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:47:54 I think Keane will come good in the end.
I think the job he has at Ipswich is bigger than he initially expected. My cousin is an Ipswich fan, I was chatting to him a couple of weeks ago. He said that all of the players had such a shit attitude, just playing for money, no love for the game. That was the main reason that Shane Supple decided to quit the game because he apparently "fell out of love with the game". This was due to the players he was surrounded by. Not giving a shit about the club, only playing for themselves and not having any team ethic. Next season will be the telling season for them I think, once he's had a chance to have a clear out in the summer. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Colin Todd on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:48:05 Obviously their season hasnt been a disaster but I'm sure that the play offs were the minimum target for this season given their position for the last 2 seasons.
I hope they go bust as well. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Colin Todd on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:51:51 Hence my comment about being a decent lower league manager. Ince has done well in L1, and L2 to various degrees but couldnt cut if further up, much like Wilson hasn't cut it further up the leagues but has done well in the bottom 2. Not really. Wilson got promoted to the prem with barnsley, got sacked in this league with MK, failed to get city up and got sacked by them in this league. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Ardiles on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:52:41 ok we got promoted with Wise... No we didn't! Sturrock took us up. Wise's 17 games at the start of the season were just a helpful start. I'm normally the first to cheer when the Franchise suffer...but let's remember we need them to take some points off Leeds. Now they are out of the picture, I'd welcome a strong finish from them. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: STFC_Gazza on Friday, April 16, 2010, 13:57:57 No we didn't! Sturrock took us up. Now they are out of the picture, I'd welcome a strong finish from them. Alot of it was Wise's squad though, Sturrock got us over the finish line, After our start thought anything other than promotion would have been a complete failure. It was however the catalyst to do well in the league the following season until the BEST, transfer embargo saga.... Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Power to people on Friday, April 16, 2010, 15:13:25 Apparently Dongs are skint as well! Shame Couldn't happen to a nicer club Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Nemo on Friday, April 16, 2010, 15:15:52 Maybe they should move to Oxford to provide them with a league club and boost the Dons financially?
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Summerof69 on Friday, April 16, 2010, 15:22:23 To be fair to Ince he did a hell of a joc at Macc. They were virtually down to the Conference when he took oer and kept them up.
He then went to Franchise, where Wankleman gave him quite a bit of cash, and got them up from League 2 to the play-offs of League 1. Then he went to Blackburn, to be sacked soon after, and he went back to Franchise, where Wankleman has reduced the budget, but he still wanted promotion to the Championship, especially after seeing what Wilson has done here. Personally, the sooner Franchise and Wankleman goes bust...the better. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: STFC_Gazza on Friday, April 16, 2010, 15:28:25 PMSL, Wankleman's dream is in tatters the thieving cunt!
Hope the Franchise go bust too! Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: pauld on Friday, April 16, 2010, 15:30:14 Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please let Franchise go bust.
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Barry Scott on Friday, April 16, 2010, 16:19:52 Franchise short of cash... skint... budget reductions... God that gets me excited. I would love to donate money to a fund to push through any court orders they may have hanging over them in order to speed up their dreamy demise. Happy days.
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: STFC_Gazza on Friday, April 16, 2010, 17:08:01 Should we have a whip round for them? ;)
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Doore on Friday, April 16, 2010, 21:23:56 If I was an mk fan I would love to see how many threads on other forums they are the focus of. Can't we all just ignore them instead? I can hear it now: "no-one likes us, no-one likes us..."
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, April 16, 2010, 21:29:25 Behave Billy if we can't dislike a football club like that lot and discuss it on a forum then what can we do? :)
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Doore on Friday, April 16, 2010, 21:34:25 Behave Billy if we can't dislike a football club like that lot and discuss it on a forum then what can we do? :) We could be a bit different and hate a club that have done nothing wrong. Fucking Rochdale cunts. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: pride_of_wilts on Friday, April 16, 2010, 21:43:40 We could be a bit different and hate a club that have done nothing wrong. Fucking Rochdale cunts. Franchise did do something wrong! Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Oaksey Moonraker on Friday, April 16, 2010, 21:46:35 Personally I think Paul Ince is destined to be a lower league manager and not be able to get any success higher up. I wonder how long it will be before we hear Paul Ince saying that black managers and coaches don't get opportunities in the game but here he has the opportunity to prove that he's a good coach, do his time and bring success on a low budget and he buggers off saying 'my budget's been cut and I quit'. When you compare to Keith Alexander who was prepared to do the rounds in lower league football developing players fufil their potential and great managers such as Alex Ferguson or Roy Hodgson who did their time in lower level football to get where they are now. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Doore on Friday, April 16, 2010, 21:48:36 Franchise did do something wrong! Well, yes, I acknowledged that in my post. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Crozzer on Friday, April 16, 2010, 22:47:01 Ince would have kept them up next season, well done Incy we are proud of you. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: donkey on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 14:42:08 Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please let Franchise go bust. This. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 11:32:57 Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please let Franchise go bust. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whats that comming up to bite you in the arse? AFC............... Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Power to people on Monday, April 19, 2010, 12:54:24 There was a peice in one of the sunday papers where Ince was saying his budget had been cut and he was forced to sell Puncheon to Southampton and not bring in any players, and he had to name only 3 subs in 1 or 2 games and even named his No 2 on the bench for a game.
Sounds like Wanyman had a plan and it has failed and he is not prepared to put any more money in, hopefully that will see them relegated next season with AFC promoted thus meeting the following season Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: THE FLASH on Monday, April 19, 2010, 13:36:37 Ha Ha Ha............what happened to Wiltshire Dong!??
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Ardiles on Monday, April 19, 2010, 14:02:29 Will they rename the ground WhiteElephant:MK?
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Summerof69 on Monday, April 19, 2010, 14:03:39 Will they rename the ground WhiteElephant:MK? More like 'Plastic WhiteElephant:MK'. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Colin Todd on Monday, April 19, 2010, 14:05:20 I laugh at their 2nd tier.
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 06:38:07 Puncheon was a Plymouth player was he not? Either way they couldn't afford his wages.
I honestly think that Winkelman believed they'd be on the brink of the top flight by now. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Summerof69 on Monday, May 10, 2010, 11:47:10 To prove Franchise have run out of cash, they've gone for a cheap option...

Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: bigbobjoylove on Monday, May 10, 2010, 12:24:29 Real shame to see John Gorman now working for them :(
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, May 10, 2010, 12:32:08 Can't see Ince getting a new management job now.
Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, May 10, 2010, 12:49:40 Well, he'll either be gone by Christmas or prove to be an inspired appointment. I would be surprised if Gorman or Alex Rae replace him if it didn't work.
However, when you consider that they had appointed lower league experience in Danny Wilson and Martin Allen along with "glamour" names like Paul Ince and Roberto Di Matteo in the past you have to say it'll be a struggle for Winkleman to place positive spin to their "fans" with this announcement. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Spud on Monday, May 10, 2010, 13:41:42 Dons chairman Pete Winkelman said: "Karl is a young man with enormous ambition who has the talent to build on the momentum our club is building."
hahahahaha! Who's he trying to kid? Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, May 10, 2010, 14:46:35 hahahahaha! Who's he trying to kid? Exactly, they've made zero progress this season on the pitch. Title: Re: Paul Ince Post by: Colin Todd on Monday, May 10, 2010, 14:52:04 They've made progress, just the backwards kind. Good times.
