Title: Matt Ritchie Post by: STFC4LIFE on Friday, March 26, 2010, 14:55:03 Has been re-called by Pompy.
Edit, seen other thread. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: ibelieveinmrreeves on Friday, March 26, 2010, 14:59:15 Boo. I'm convinced we were going to see the best of him before the end of the season. Would like to see him back at some point.
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: jayohaitchenn on Friday, March 26, 2010, 15:22:14 From the little I saw of him, he looked like a white Macnamee. We can do better.
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Bogus Dave on Friday, March 26, 2010, 15:27:18 meh
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Jean-Francois is God on Friday, March 26, 2010, 15:29:15 I hate Portsmouth. They are doomed, have no chance of staying up so wouldnt it be better if they stuck some youth team player on the bench for their game at Tottenham tomorrow, rather than recall Ritchie from a loan spell at a play off team in League One?
I blame Wilson. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: jayohaitchenn on Friday, March 26, 2010, 15:30:17 WILSON OUT
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: reeves4england on Friday, March 26, 2010, 15:32:51 I hate Portsmouth. They are doomed, have no chance of staying up so wouldnt it be better if they stuck some youth team player on the bench for their game at Tottenham tomorrow, rather than recall Ritchie from a loan spell at a play off team in League One? They might be pinning their hopes on players like Ritchie for next season's relegation battleI blame Wilson. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Barry Scott on Friday, March 26, 2010, 15:34:03 Maybe it is to force us to buy him, because they're now allowed and weren't we supposed to be trying prior to the loan?
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: jonny72 on Friday, March 26, 2010, 15:37:17 They might be pinning their hopes on players like Ritchie for next season's relegation battle I reckon that is spot on. Ritchie is exactly the sort of player Portsmouth will want in the Championship, so I'd say the chances of us being able to buy him now are pretty remote. They won't get much money for him so there is no real incentive for them to sell - its the high value high earning players they need to offload. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Power to people on Friday, March 26, 2010, 15:42:57 Bit of a strange decision by Pompey to recall him considering them are doomed, you would think leave hinm with us let him get a bit of experience at L1 level and if they want him for next season then he'll be ready and in good spirits having (hopefully) helped us to promotion - but why do this today though when we can't replace him either
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: townforever on Friday, March 26, 2010, 15:49:24 it wouldn't suprise me if AA had a major hand in the timing of the request i.e. a day after the loan market closes
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: leefer on Friday, March 26, 2010, 16:17:30 They wouldnt be happy him playing v Exeter reserves....scored a hatrick as well.
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Friday, March 26, 2010, 17:39:35 Maybe it is to force us to buy him, because they're now allowed and weren't we supposed to be trying prior to the loan? I thought so. It would have made perfect sense I would have thought to have signed him. Especially with us having so many loan players. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Friday, March 26, 2010, 17:42:20 Oh well. Marshall has come in and stepped up to the plate so not a great loss it would seem.
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Dirk Diggler on Friday, March 26, 2010, 19:50:36 I believe that Pompey only had 16 fit players for tommorows game.
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Batch on Friday, March 26, 2010, 20:06:20 Bit of a strange decision by Pompey to recall him considering them are doomed, you would think leave hinm with us let him get a bit of experience at L1 level.. We aren't/weren't playing him though. So that doesn't really hold true. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, March 28, 2010, 11:23:06 Fact is he wasnt good enough to get in our team. You wonder about attitude as well, because Mark Marshall was above him in the pecking order.
All in all, its a good job Pompey didnt accept our transfer bid. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: ronnie21 on Sunday, March 28, 2010, 14:59:26 I believe that Pompey only had 16 fit players for tommorows game. Couldn't name their full quota of subs, hell of a state to be in for a prem club!Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, March 28, 2010, 18:29:08 I heard he told Pompey he didn't want to play for us.
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: laufav on Sunday, March 28, 2010, 18:35:48 Makes sense. My initial thought when I heard he had gone was that he had been left out of the squad for Hartlepool and stormed off because of it.
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Barry Scott on Sunday, March 28, 2010, 18:37:26 Well if either or both of you are right, he won't be here again will he?
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: leefer on Sunday, March 28, 2010, 18:39:55 Well if either or both of you are right, he won't be here again will he? Next season for for Pompey maybe! Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Benzel on Sunday, March 28, 2010, 18:50:44 Wasn't up to much anyway.
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Rich Pullen on Sunday, March 28, 2010, 18:52:20 Didn't get the opportunity. Had he stayed he would have almost certainly played a part. He went from a major player at Notts County to a squad filler at Swindon Town.
Portsmouth only had 5 on their bench yesterday so I imagine they did need him back. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Barry Scott on Sunday, March 28, 2010, 18:55:33 Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: Sippo on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 12:50:20 DW will look at the possibility of signing him in the summer.
http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/5422281.Going_back_for_Matt/ I'm guessing that depends on what league we're in! Title: Re: Matt Ritchie Post by: One F In Fitton on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 17:40:51 He didn't spend enough minutes out on the pitch for us to be able to make a reasonable judgement.
I think it was the Rovers game......he showed a lot of promise when he came on, he was obviously told "We're getting dicked, just get on the ball as much as you can and try to make things happen." He had nothing to lose, went for it, and I liked what I saw. That - and the fact that Wilson has confirmed that he will try to get him in the summer, makes me confident that there's a player in there. |
