Title: gordon greer Post by: Arriba on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 21:26:23 I think the bloke deserves a thread of his own as i want to big the fella up.
He has been nothing short of awesome the last few weeks and i'm made up for him scoring today.Trust me he was running on empty just before he netted, as he'd pushed upfront and was blowing out of his arse when he was fetching the ball to take throw ins. A true war horse and a great leader.best centre back we've had in a long long time.composed on the ball and fearless in the challenge. deffo my front runner now for player of the year. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 21:32:46 Did an excellent job today, didn't give away silly free kicks and led the team from the back and of course the important goal.
I think he compliments the other centre backs well (or they compliment him!) but I think Cuthbert has been a bit better over the course of the season. Which is no criticism, but just my two pence about player of the year. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: adje on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 21:33:18 Yep-he was excellent at Brighton and Soton.Best since Taylor without a doubt
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 21:42:11 Thought he was outstanding today. Deserved his goal really.
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: ronnie21 on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 21:50:02 Thought he was outstanding today. Deserved his goal really. Her played very, very well today. I thought Lecsy alongside him was immense as well.Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Batch on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 21:51:40 A leader of men today. Right bang on form hen we need him.
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Berniman on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 21:52:27 Back to his best today after after going through a poor spell in Jan/Feb by his standards.
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: STFCere on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 23:53:38 greer is the best centre back we've had since taylor & calderwood. he is immense
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: carbonwhite on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 00:06:38 everyone been on the drink today? as ive noticed all the typo's :D

Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: jonny72 on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 00:38:04 oh and greer was great today hadnt noticed that he didnt give any fouls away though....good spot. Except of course for the one just outside the box that they hit the woodwork from. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: yeo on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 00:51:54 We had some Norwich fans needing a Recovery truck back to Norwich earlier,I lent them our Pool Car and printed out some Pictures of Gordon Greer celebrating a goal and left them in the back seat of the Car 8)
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 02:50:30 haha fucking ace
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 04:13:40 We had some Norwich fans needing a Recovery truck back to Norwich earlier,I lent them our Pool Car and printed out some Pictures of Gordon Greer celebrating a goal and left them in the back seat of the Car 8) I love you yeovil :) Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: pauld on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 09:54:41 Greer is indeed immense and just as he played a key part in our battle to avoid the drop when he first came in, so he's been pivotal in our unexpected promotion push this season. However, it's now got to be Yeovil for player of the season for me :)
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 10:27:42 He is the Rolls Royce of our side. Pure class.
Nice one Gordie. Youre fucking brilliant. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: dell boy on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 10:30:40 He has revitalised his career with us, what a great bit of business bringing him here.
Outstanding centre half, not just a very good defender, he so good on the ball as well, the way he links with the midfield is way ahead of Division One standard. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Saxondale on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 10:55:27 He can spray a decent crossfield pass around as well. Not quite Glenn Hoddle playing as sweeper but certainly has a good touch.
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: DV on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 11:22:46 Except of course for the one just outside the box that they hit the woodwork from. Ah yes, the one where Greer jumped up headed the ball backwards and there player was behind him and just went down for no reason. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Bennett on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 12:40:15 i think he's out best footballer in the team. he's got an awesome passing range and can play himself out of trouble
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: leefer on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 13:19:43 Like him lots....seemed to have alot of desire yesterday...oh and did anyone see those long raking crossfield balls by JFL?...couldnt believe what i was seeing.
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 13:21:22 Greer is capable of some incredible passes and some absolute shit.
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: DV on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 21:35:43 he spent alot of time injured before he got here.
fair play to the physiotherapist for keeping him fit. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Benzel on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 22:22:48 Like him lots....seemed to have alot of desire yesterday...oh and did anyone see those long raking crossfield balls by JFL?...couldnt believe what i was seeing. He's got a great pass on him. The cross for Billy vs Leeds and the deep cross to Austin vs Huddersfield stick in the mind. I am definitely a fan. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: juddie on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 22:40:22 ledge. he helped turn things around last season, too. Massive player.
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Tails on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 22:43:58 Lescinel is prone to the odd error of judgment but there's no doubting his improvement over the course of the season. Some of his passing and crossing has been superb. Personally I think he looks a lot better at CB.
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: juddie on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 22:44:49 agreed. he was superb yesterday.
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 22:45:27 Personally I think he looks a lot better at CB. He said himself that he considers that to be his best position. He's not a left back.Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: deltaincline on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 23:03:37 Not sure what has happened to the trust, but didn't they find the cash to bring Gordon Greer to the club last season with their red Amy trust fund?
Fucking ace signing and nailed-on for my vote as player of the season. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Benzel on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 23:04:50 He's a beast and still loved by Donny and Stockport fans.
Those pics of him celebrating send a shiver down my spine. What a sight. The passion etched on his face makes me chuffed to be a Town fan right now. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: sonicyouth on Sunday, March 21, 2010, 23:39:43 he spent alot of time injured before he got here. what physiotherapist?fair play to the physiotherapist for keeping him fit. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Talk Talk on Monday, March 22, 2010, 00:15:06 what physiotherapist? It was the roast pig from the van by the DRS that done it. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: pauld on Monday, March 22, 2010, 09:23:13 Not sure what has happened to the trust, but didn't they find the cash to bring Gordon Greer to the club last season with their red Amy trust fund? Yes, one of the better Red Army Fund signings (*cough*McPhee*cough*)Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Nemo on Monday, March 22, 2010, 09:43:53 The RAF had a bit of a history for awful loan signings until Greer really, Proctor, McPhee, Lonergan...anyone else?
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Summerof69 on Monday, March 22, 2010, 10:25:04 The RAF had a bit of a history for awful loan signings until Greer really, Proctor, McPhee, Lonergan...anyone else? Proctor did earn us three points on debut... Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: pauld on Monday, March 22, 2010, 11:30:48 The RAF had a bit of a history for awful loan signings until Greer really, Proctor, McPhee, Lonergan...anyone else? Proctor did OK, got 2 goals in 4 games, including the winner on his debut - he just wasn't here long enough to make an impact. McPhee and Lonergan, less said the better. Although in fairness, it was the respective managers who made the signings not the RAF. So it's not that surprising that it's only the most recent one who's really worked out.Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, March 22, 2010, 12:25:58 Lonergan is a quality keeper, he was shit for us but if I recall, he was coming back from an eye injury and couldn't see properly. That said, he was fucking awful for us.
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Panda Paws on Monday, March 22, 2010, 12:26:14 Although Lonergan went back to Preston, and has been their number 1 pretty much since, as he was before. He just wasn't fit and made a mistake, he's still a very good keeper.
Beat me to it Jayo Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Spencer_White on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, 18:02:07 Lonergan is a quality keeper, he was shit for us but if I recall, he was coming back from an eye injury and couldn't see properly. That said, he was fucking awful for us. Is that was it was? He was one of the worst keepers ive ever seen at Swindon. Even Wenger wouldnt have picked him. Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: jayohaitchenn on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, 23:26:40 Wenger/Lonergan: "I didn't see it..."

Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, April 11, 2010, 09:17:31 Is he not supposed to be injury prone?
Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: super reds on Sunday, April 11, 2010, 11:29:54 Is he not supposed to be injury prone? That's what was said before he came to us on loan last season, although he hadn't long come back from injury i think, but wasn't getting a look in at Donny, but only been injured once this season hasn't he, so hasn't had a bad year for us really Title: Re: gordon greer Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, April 11, 2010, 11:39:03 Fucking cross bar yesterday. If that had just crashed into the bar over the line.
