Title: Shirt of Hurt Post by: Doore on Friday, March 19, 2010, 23:32:44 I've just been reading about this part of Sport Relief - its a shame we don't have any famous fans (Willie Carson does not count as a fan). How much would you have to be paid to wear an Oxford shirt for the day, considering all money goes towards a very good cause.
Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Friday, March 19, 2010, 23:36:50 Ive been thinking about this, the bottom line is i dont know any oxford fans.

Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: chalkies_shorts on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 00:01:55 I can't think of any circumstance where I'd wear that yellow festering heap of shit. I was being wound up about doing it last week by some quite senior people where I work but I think they realised they were flogging a dead horse. I was even told i could wear a Town shirt underneath so it didn't acrtually touch my skin but I told them they could still fuck off.
Its not right - even if it is for charity. Some thnigs should not be meddled with. A better idea would be to pay your rivals opposition for every goal they score or for winning or something like that. Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: sonicyouth on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 00:02:16 jamie cullum's a town fan isn't he?
Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: suttonred on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 00:31:37 I'd sit on an Oxfords fans shoulders all day wearing a town shirt, that would be worth a fair whack I reckon. Any takers? I'll press gang one at Paddington next time our paths cross.
Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 08:23:38 jamie cullum's a town fan isn't he? About as much of a fan as Dean Aston I think (remember him? Born and brought up in Swindon and somehow slipped through the net allegedly?). Possibly a bit more of a fan than Ashton, I think he may have been taken to a game once when he was 10Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: Barnard on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 08:33:19 Dean Ashton was born in Swindon but moved up north when he was a toddler, hardly slipped through the net.
I've seen Cullum at the County Ground, and there were a fair few photos of him taken when be brought Sophie Dahl to a game a couple of years ago. I'm no fan of his music, but fair play to him for perusading the rather gorgeous Miss Dahl to come and watch us. Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 09:02:36 Dean Ashton was born in Swindon but moved up north when he was a toddler, hardly slipped through the net. My post was extremely ironic. It is a subject which has been done to death on this forum in years past ::) Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: Barnard on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 09:17:32 My post was extremely ironic. Children in need - Comic Relief and Sport Relief can all fuck off! Good causes all but not with my TV licence money. >:( Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 10:31:01 Jamie cullens dad has a suite at the county ground and is a huge fan, was in the programme earlier in the season, says jamie comes to games whenever he can.
Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: sonicyouth on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 10:38:30 i heard an interview with him not long ago - around the time his new album came out - where he mentioned his support of swindon.
even if he doesn't watch us frequently, anyone associated with sophie dahl is top notch in my book... Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: china red on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 10:45:31 Three shirts I would never wear
Franchise Manure Oxford United I would however make a large contribution to charity if any fans of those teams were willing to use their teams shirt to clean the urinals at the CG after a match and then wear it for a day Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: Peter Venkman on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 11:01:30 About as much of a fan as Dean Aston I think (remember him? Me, personally, wouldnt wear an Oxford shirt whatever the occasion :/ Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 13:44:13 He is a huge fan of the Town, the official site even has pics of him at the ground. Fare enough, always happy to be corrected. I just remember an interview with him a couple of years when it sounded like the last game he went to was when McMoan was manager! I obviously got the wrong end of the stick...story of my life really!Title: Re: Shirt of Hurt Post by: Peter Venkman on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 13:55:35 Heres a pic of him and the lovely Sophie Dahl at a home game in 2007, no idea what game it is, but it was one of the first games after Fitton took over.
And TBH it would be ok for him to have said "no way" after McMoan!
