Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Red Frog on Monday, March 15, 2010, 17:49:02 Quote I imagine he is their best player, it is Swindon after all They're obviously much too good for this league aren't they. It's the weight of false expectations that'll keep them down again this year. They don't learn do they? :D Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Barry Scott on Monday, March 15, 2010, 17:55:45 I think i bet on them not being promoted this season, so i will be pleased if they fuck it up. Although even if i didn't make my regular stupid bets that no sane person makes, i'd be pleased to see them stay where they belong.
Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Dazzza on Monday, March 15, 2010, 18:00:13 They have a right element there who are still blinkered by their Champions League shenanigans of a few years back.
They really do feel that they don’t belong in League one, which as the Frog has mentioned really sets expectations wildly out of kilter. I don’t think they see many of the clubs around them are in an identical position to Leeds. A lot of the top teams challenging for the top six can all claim to be “fallen giants” of one sort or another or have sufficient funding to push for promotion. It’s interesting that a lot of Championship clubs are feeling the pinch this season and as a result not in a position to horde large squads of players to the same extend they did a few seasons ago. As a result more players are filtering down the ladder and ending up in League one rather than bench warming in the Championship. Arguably a lot of these players are a far better standard than the fare that was available a few years ago and as a result the league has opened up somewhat. Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: BANGKOK RED on Monday, March 15, 2010, 18:20:09 If they looked at the league table sometime they might just notice that we are in the same league as them
Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: suttonred on Monday, March 15, 2010, 18:36:00 Not sure what the rumpus is about, pretty varied response across the board, which is to be expected.
Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Spencer_White on Monday, March 15, 2010, 19:08:48 But there obviously were enough Leeds fans on his back to want out.
Fans from the top league probably think the lower leagues are full of half decent hard man midfielders. Nothing could be further from the truth. We probably went 10 years without ever having a decent midfield general. He's obviously associated with their relegation to the third tier. But he was brilliant in the games we played against Leeds. The 1-3 defeat under Malpas he was absolutely sensational. Battered our midfield even when they were a man short. Best holding midfielder in the football league? Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Summerof69 on Monday, March 15, 2010, 19:11:21 Douglas hasn't scored for us this season.
Maybe he's saving it up to score the winner at ER. Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: axs on Monday, March 15, 2010, 19:13:24 Can't believe he's so far ahead in that poll, would be third or fourth in mine. Would still miss him if he wasn't here though.
Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: carbonwhite on Monday, March 15, 2010, 19:18:12 there already planning for the championship by the sounds of it. seems like they have mixed emotions about dougie though. ah well i just hope we go and give them another thrashing.
p.s. dougie for player of the year is spot on Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Spencer_White on Monday, March 15, 2010, 19:31:12 Hes always there. When the team is struggling thats when you notice him.
At Franchise we looked fairly clueless, but you cant see him upping the tempo. Hitting their players harder and harder without giving away fouls. Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Batch on Monday, March 15, 2010, 19:36:04 The Leeds fans do sort of point out that their loss is our gain.
Thanks Lids. Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: 4D on Monday, March 15, 2010, 19:55:53 Please JD score a goal at Elland Road in April, I may then sign up to Waccoe :D
Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: reeves4england on Monday, March 15, 2010, 20:28:38 I always seem to forget just how much better Leeds are than us. I can't think why. It must be that the fact we dicked them 3-0 has given me the impression they're not as good as they think.
Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Summerof69 on Monday, March 15, 2010, 20:33:13 I think that win at Old Trafford in the cup inflated their fans egos.
I think most fans in the country will piss themseves laughing if Lids fuck up again. Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Ralphy on Monday, March 15, 2010, 20:47:59 Listen to this fucking twat....
"I imagine he is their best player, it is Swindon after all BUT he wasn't good enough for LUFC, he had his chance and was f**king SH*T get over it " They make me so angry. Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, March 15, 2010, 20:48:15 Leeds are a good side for this division, on paper certainly too good to be here but form is suggesting otherwise at the moment. Of course they're still spending ridiculous sums of money for a team not far from ourselves.
Take Snodgrass out of their side and they'd be where we are now, looking over their shoulders thinking they may not even make the play offs. Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, March 15, 2010, 20:50:41 They make me so angry. Really? They just make me realise what a bunch of deluded blinkered fuckwits they really are. Last time I looked, Leeds' spell in the division had been as long as ours. Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Langers on Monday, March 15, 2010, 20:52:38 Last time I looked, Leeds' spell in the division had been as long as ours. Thats a fantastic way of looking at it :D Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: walrus on Monday, March 15, 2010, 20:55:16 Swindon 3 - 0 Leeds Utd. That's all I have to say on the matter.
Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Fred Elliot on Monday, March 15, 2010, 21:06:40 Douglas hasn't scored for us this season. Maybe he's saving it up to score the winner at ER. nah .................... play off final. Wembly Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: 4D on Monday, March 15, 2010, 21:37:30 I like the comment made about "when they played us in early February"............January 26th to be precise :)
Title: Re: Another Waccoe Classic Post by: Zurich Red on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, 18:11:35 Nice to see that a fair few of them rate their trip to the County Ground as the worst away day of the season :D
