Title: Two for £25. Post by: leefer on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:01:04 The club are missing a trick big time with the ticket advertising....this is cracking value,Carlisle and Stockport...and thats to sit anyware in the ground.
I only found out when buying my season ticket...bit in the adver tonight but thats not enough, many people have made plans plus many dont get the Adver these days..cant believe they didnt promote this better..yes it may have been on the Town site but not many pay that a visit in truth. Apologies if this has been discussed folks. Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: Arriba on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:05:42 maybe they could have done more, but regular fans or part timers, and the come when it's good followers should be buying tickets anyway.
Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: leefer on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:12:34 Getting my season ticket was a fiasco...hardly no one knows about this deal....some people will go tomorow, pay twenty quid and wont go tuesday...think i will be dropping Mr Fitton a line so he can have a gander at things..its a bleeding good deal and hardly anyone knows about it.

Won't the ticket sellers tell them? Presumably they can still do the deal tomorrow? That's how I assumed it would work in terms of advertising. More an insurance policy to get the attendance on tuesday more than attracting new fans etc. Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: Arriba on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:16:27 a few but by no means drunk at all.why?
Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: nevillew on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:20:03 a few but by no means drunk at all.why? Couldn't make sense of your post unitl I realised the 'come when it's good' bit made sense (I've had a few as well). Sorry. Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: Arriba on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:21:25 i thought it may have been due to my optimism lately
Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: chalkies_shorts on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:24:43 I was in the box office earlier renewing 6 tickets - took about 5 minutes. A bloke at the next bit asked for 3 tickets for tomorrow and the Jocko asled him if he was coming Tuesday because he could have both tickets for £25. That was about 9:45. I was renewing the family ticket of 2+3 which they are not advertising this year and its the same price as last £599.
I thought the ticket office young lad was bloody efficient as was Jocko. Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: leefer on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:26:25 Won't the ticket sellers tell them? More an insurance policy to get the attendance on tuesday more than attracting new fans etc. If you go to the match with 20 quid tomorow...that isnt going to get you two tickets Sie..the bigger point is that people who wont pay 40 quid for the two matches,or more if they have kids wont bother going...they may well think differently if they knew about this deal. As i said its not me and you they have to try and get in the ground, the team are playing well and i suspect a few old/new fans would have been tempted at the £25 deal.....providing they knew about it! Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: nevillew on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:30:11 i thought it may have been due to my optimism lately "Blessed are those who expect nothing, for they shall never be disappointed" You're entitled to your sometimes downbeat opinions, as are others for their boundless optimism. There are of course exceptions to this rule. Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: leefer on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:34:00 I was in the box office earlier renewing 6 tickets - took about 5 minutes. Well i took time of work and got to the ground at nine,,and was promptly told i couldnt get a season ticket untill one oclock!!...and your missing my point CHALKIES,its not people all ready buying tickets who need to be told of such deals, its the stayaways who wont pay £22 or more if they have families etc. Anyway as i said i will be dropping MR F a line as in my opinion they are missing out on plenty of money. Bye the way the guys in the ticket office were top notch...its the communication that is the problem. Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: Arriba on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:40:23 why wouldnt they sell you a season ticket leefer?
Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: leefer on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:46:02 They did in the afternoon...apparently the forms wernt ready at nine..no probs though all sorted now.
Not knocking the club but was really suprised they didnt promote the two match deal abit more. Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:50:15 I get your point Leefer, don't worry.
I just don't see what else can the Board/Marketing people can do apart from get Radio Swindon/Adver/Official site to disclose the details? A couple of billboards around town is hardly going to raise awareness. Producing several thousand flyers defeats the object a bit - the extra money is going to be well offset by this cost. We had a full house at Leeds and it was a cracking game (apparently). Maybe we missed a trick by not advertising this then? It's a good deal, but I think they should do the Bank for a fiver instead. Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: Arriba on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:53:52 i agree pieman.
the bank is there doing fuck all.even if they gave tickets away to schools they'd coin it in on grub and programmes Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: leefer on Friday, February 19, 2010, 22:55:55 Good shout about the bank Sie.....should have had leaflets on the turnstyle at the Oldham match regarding the two match deal in my opinion...Leeds was an amazing match, still crackling after that one.
Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: Harold Shipmans Glasses on Friday, February 19, 2010, 23:04:06 ime with leef on this one. 2 games for £25 would be something id go for but i had no idea!
dont agree with you arriba think that they should be getting new fans in completely pointless offer if its just the same old coming in Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: Arriba on Friday, February 19, 2010, 23:06:35 are the kids in primary schools the same old ones then?
the same old ones will be those taking up the 25 quid offer. Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, February 19, 2010, 23:15:33 The only reason I started going to the CG is because of the school offers and kids go free offers.

Not really, flyers are dirt cheap to get done, especially if it can be done in house?I do agree that something needs to be done to get the word out there. The posters initiative on the OS is a pretty good idea, not sure if people actually print them off and put them up at work but I would if I had a job! Title: Re: Two for £25. Post by: Luci on Saturday, February 20, 2010, 18:21:12 How much does it cost to advertise on the sides of buses or billboards (by the roundabout near Maccy D's on great western way).
I agree with Leefer though as if I hadn't looked on the OS, I wouldnt have known about the offer but how many people who don't often look at the OS would have known? Anyway, 7700 v Carlisle is an improvement for sure so its clearly enticed a few more in. Hopefully with that many on Tuesday, the atmosphere will be better then. |
