Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: Doore on Friday, February 19, 2010, 18:16:04 Saturday, Monday 2 weeks running. How shit is that? We'll lose because it's on TV as well. Wasn't our last televised game the win at Lincoln? Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Friday, February 19, 2010, 18:23:28 Wasn't our last televised game the win at Lincoln? Yes but it doesn't make our record much better. Fucking Sky. Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Friday, February 19, 2010, 18:25:31 Wasn't our last televised game the win at Lincoln? I was just thinking about that. It was early the following season, at home to Yeovil (0-1) and the Portuageezers were loitering in the background and Rufus Brevit (sp) was their spokesman but did not answer a single question. It makes my blood run cold just to think of what might have happened.Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: adje on Friday, February 19, 2010, 18:27:08 Wasn't our last televised game the win at Lincoln? That was a great game-Lukas,Peacock, Corr and Zaboub, all brilliant on the same day! Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: DV on Friday, February 19, 2010, 18:43:55 Wasn't our last televised game the win at Lincoln? No. We lost 1-0 to Yeovil. Lloyd Owusu scored. Tommy M££ney was the sky guest. Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Friday, February 19, 2010, 18:44:36 No. As I think I said ::)We lost 1-0 to Yeovil. Lloyd Owusu scored. Tommy M££ney was the sky guest. Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: Doore on Friday, February 19, 2010, 18:45:37 I'd managed to forget that game.
Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: DV on Friday, February 19, 2010, 18:49:20 As I think I said ::) Thats how slow my internet connection is at the moment!!! In addition, I believe that was Simon Cox debut coming on as sub and he famously said he'll be banging down the managers or words to those effect, which lead Fred Elliot and alot of others to conclude he was a jumped up tosser who was going to be crap. We did beat Bristol City on Sky mind you. The worse had to be that FA Cup whatever round it was replay against Notts County - the worst sky game anyway, possibly of all time That scum game :(:(:( Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Friday, February 19, 2010, 19:10:59 Thats how slow my internet connection is at the moment!!! He did sound like a bit of a jumped up tosser at the time though in fairness. And I think all Fred said was 'you've talked the talk, now prove you can walk the walk' or something along those lines, a la Chief Wiggum. I think Cox proved he could 'walk the walk' many times over.Fred Elliot and alot of others to conclude he was a jumped up tosser who was going to be crap. Agree about the Notts and Oxford games. I nearly threw the TV out the window on both occasions. The Lincoln game was a good one. I suppose the best ever televised Town game has to be the '93 play off final. There's been a few other decent ones in between as well. If I'm watching a game live on TV as opposed to live at the ground, I get about 100 times more nervous. God alone knows why. Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, February 19, 2010, 19:33:19 If I'm watching a game live on TV as opposed to live at the ground, I get about 100 times more nervous. God alone knows why. I'm exactly the same....the Lincoln game I had to go out for a walk at half time to calm down. Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Friday, February 19, 2010, 19:34:44 i got pissed the night before and woke up 70 minutes in :)

Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: Nomoreheroes on Friday, February 19, 2010, 23:19:01 The worse had to be that FA Cup whatever round it was replay against Notts County - the worst sky game anyway, possibly of all time I was living in the USA at the time. I took the afternoon off work, all excited, having told all of my colleagues about what I was doing. Got home, changed into my Swindon shirt and called Comcast and paid $15-20 for the pleasure of watching the most awful display I have ever seen from a Swindon team (and I've seen shome shite!) I am mentally scared from that game! Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: BANGKOK RED on Saturday, February 20, 2010, 07:26:14 That's Songkran. I'm likely to be sat on the beach then.
Fucking typical.. Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: DV on Saturday, February 20, 2010, 08:00:39 I made the stupid decision to turn down an evening with a lady to watch that Notts County match. 15 minutes I changed my mind!!
I won 15 quid on the Lincoln match. At half time the tefs very own Yeovil Red decided it would be a good idea for us all to chip in a quid and pull out a players name. Next Swindon player to score. I drew the cock! Managed to find a pub with sky and asked the Landlord to put it on. Sat on my own like a twat in the corner........bad memories... My memories are nowhere near as bad as yours Flash, but... I was at uni at the time and took the whole uni football teams I was playing for to a pub I knew would be showing this game for our every Wednesday "social" event. I'd told them they would see a "proper" game and a "proper" team - most of them were from Bracknell or Guildford but had an Aunt who had once been to Manchester, so of course they were all Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool fans. I've never been more ashamed. They all looked at me at the end of the game as if to say: "you do a 140 mile round trip every other weekend to watch that shite?" Ta Title: Re: Exeter game to be televised Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, February 21, 2010, 11:52:22 Sky should televise only derbys or top of the table clashes from Leagues 1 & 2. They are the lower only league games games that really reflect well on TV.
A lot of the games that we have been involved in on TV have not really done us any favours at all. |
