Title: Minge
Post by: Sippo on Thursday, February 11, 2010, 08:09:13
Apparently one of the players Danny is looking at bringing in fairly soon according the radio this morning.

Good to see him back if he does. Was a very good player for us.

Take it he isnt getting a game at cardiff anymore.  Would be a good signing indeed

I wonder if this is with a view of a permanent move back here.

What?? Random!!
Where's all the SSP "never come back" crew then?? ;)

would be awesome

Agree with the above.
Tempered with the fact that many felt he did a bit of a runner.  We're all aware of players that don't pull their weight, players that aren't first team material and minges doesn't fall into those categories.
So good for the squad, maybe good for results but will a leave a bad taste in some supporters mouth.
Maybe

No thanks. Thought he was too good for us. There is better out there.

The difference is SSP suffered major injuries and lost his way a bit. Was never going to improve our team, while comminges can.

Name one? At that time he was better than us and had the chance to move to a bigger club.

Ok so has he been playing for Cardiff much?? Can't say I followed his career much since he left?
Does anyone else just not find this random?

Title: Re: Minge
Post by: Sippo on Thursday, February 11, 2010, 09:32:56
Gaz, like DRS said, he had the opportunity to play higher league football. Who wouldn't take it?!

Title: Re: Minge
Post by: Rustle on Thursday, February 11, 2010, 09:45:57
Out of contract in the summer and has played 31 times for cardiff since his move, more of a squad player than a regular.

Title: Re: Minge
Post by: DV on Thursday, February 11, 2010, 10:03:07
Let's not forget he was with us when the players were not always getting paid on time.

Plus didn't we take ages to even offer him a contract?

Title: Re: Minge
Post by: trogladite on Thursday, February 11, 2010, 10:06:54
Seems to be third in line for a game at cardiff but made the bench recently.  Talk of cardiff trying to get him out on loan.  Would of put a link up but not very good at this computer malarkey.

He's probably coming to the end of his contract at Cardiff, and they probably just want him off the wage bill.

I'd have him back too. Although as cover for Wanky and JP, not as a starting player.

didnt he play at left back too?

Title: Re: Minge

iirc he had one of his best games as a makeshift left back.

Title: Re: Minge
Post by: Power to people on Thursday, February 11, 2010, 11:47:08
He has only featured for Cardiff once this season from the bench and started a cup game, he is out of contract in the summer, I expect Cardiff would let him leave initially on loan, would provide good competition for wanky / sheehan / JLF I'd say he was better than JLF also.

I would welcome him back, either as cover or starting games.

I think he could do very well for us at left back again.

Just what we need. Manks needs a rest and he can play LB. Would be great to have him back, he linked up well with JP too.

Definitely.

I don't think anyone here should be bitter at him. He was always good for us (player of the season wasn't he?). He was given the chance to move to a decent championship club not too far away. Plus we were in a state at the time as others have mentioned.

I'm not bitter about him, but there aren't many successful returns in football are there ?

Usually because players to come back outside of their prime. Neil Harris is a pretty good one though.

A tad harsh, but I totally forgot Comminges ever existed! Would be good to see him back in the team. Will add some much needed competition to the right back position as well as left back. Good signing if it happens!

I really wanted us to sign the portugese keeper quim at that time.  Because I too am a child.

Be great if we could get him back, very versatile. If we'd had him at Southend we would have won 2-0. As the lack of a back up cost us once manky got kicked out of the game, but still had to play on.

Do we have any other evidence that this might be happening apart from some one heard it on the radio? Not that I disbelieve it but does anyone have any linkage?

Fair play to him for sitting on Reg's jacket 8)

When I was young and silly, I got barred from the Old Bank, as their staff saw me kicking off with someone in/by McKenzies (to where I am still allowed in). Go figure.

Opposite the Goddard Arms in old town....it was a bank for years the last one being Barclays i believe..nice building so its bound to be down for demolition very soon!

In Wood Street, by McKenzies and of course Reg was right, it was formerly a Nat West.

Quite randomly, was thinking how useful he'd be to have back yesterday. Provides cover on both sides, at full back and on then wings. Would be a very astute signing.

Title: Re: Minge

If he was back he'd be in our first team and I don't think he'd drop a league unless he thought he would be in the first team.

McKensies is definitely shit.

JFL. If Comminges can play there. Is Comminges left back or right back? Left I think...

But surely Sheehan is our first team left back ?

Title: Re: Minge

Comminges was better. I'd play him head of Sheehan. Obviously not immediately but ease him in. Off the bench first.

Comminges is not better than sheehan imo.I don't think it's been picked up on but big Kev seems to be carrying a bit of a knock recently so maybe he could give him a couple of games rest.
