Title: McDonald's Post by: Doore on Monday, February 8, 2010, 21:32:02 I had one today for the first time in years. I don't want to sound like a snob or a knob but what the hell do people see in them? It was, and I mean this, truly fucking hideously disgusting.
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: pumbaa on Monday, February 8, 2010, 21:37:31 I hope, for your sake, you're still alive tomorrow. Please let us know.
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: leefer on Monday, February 8, 2010, 21:38:01 The person serving?...or the burger.
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Doore on Monday, February 8, 2010, 21:41:36 The person serving?...or the burger. Both. Equally. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Talk Talk on Monday, February 8, 2010, 21:43:30 McDonalds is truly the pantheon of shit food.
You can buy Smartprice or Tesco Value ready made meals that are 5000% better than that crap. I don't understand either - there are much better low cost takeaways or eat-ins around. What's wrong with a chippy? Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Batch on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:05:17 McDonalds breakfasts are great. Sod ya all.
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Talk Talk on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:08:14 McDonalds breakfasts are great. Sod ya all. I will take that as provocation - but seriously that was the worst eating experience of my life on the way down to the Brighton match on a minibus a while back. Fuck you Gaz. And I will never forgive you. Even the tremendously hideous 'sat under the heat lamps for three hour' breakfast in the Groves or Sir Dans is better than that synthetic crud. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Sippo on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:08:14 Grease central...
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: RobertT on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:11:02 I'm with Batch, their breakfast tastes great when you need some grease to absorb the night before. You're not going to want a full fry up in the car are you?
The burgers are little better than cardboard though. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:13:46 McDonalds is truly the pantheon of shit food. You can get away with certain things like the own brand instant noodles etc. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Doore on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:16:29 Smartprice or Tesco value ready meals are generally fucking disgusting. Its a basic human skill. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:19:29 Ready meals are generally fucking disgusting, and pray on the lazy and ignorant. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Doore on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:22:26 Says the man who bought a McDonald's earlier! Fair play, I deserved that. In my defence, I can plead only peer pressure. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: DMR on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:24:04 Large big mac meal with a coke = perfect hangover cure
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Doore on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:25:11 Large big mac meal with a coke = perfect hangover cure Wrong. Beer = perfect hangover cure. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:29:25 Personally I mix it up a bit. When you've worked a 12 hour day the last thing you can be bothered to do is cook, but I do enjoy cooking.
Likewise, I often buy ready made sandwiches for lunch purely because I'm bloody lazy. Compared to the burgers at the county ground, Maccy D's is gourmet. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Talk Talk on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:36:34 Wrong. Beer = perfect hangover cure. Nearly. Bacon + beer = perfect hangover cure. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Doore on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:38:13 Nearly. Bacon + beer = perfect hangover cure. A wise man indeed. Chuck brown sauce in with the bacon and you are basically the atheist version of Jesus. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Talk Talk on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:42:08 Compared to the burgers at the county ground, Maccy D's is gourmet. And compared to the roast pork and crackling bap from the van outside the DRS, Maccy D's is something a sewer pig splashed all over the sty from his bottie. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:46:09 And compared to the roast pork and crackling bap from the van outside the DRS, Maccy D's is something a sewer pig splashed all over the sty from his bottie. That's not a burger though. I made some home made burgers the other week, must do that again sometime as it's a very cheap dinner. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Doore on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:47:23 That's not a burger though. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: axs on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:50:43 I'll shove down a couple or three cheeseburgers after a few beers and enjoy them.
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: yeo on Monday, February 8, 2010, 22:52:51 McDonalds sell Burgers for couple of quid, they fill the gap when your in a hurry.Im sorry to hear the dont meet your culinary needs but they probably arent really aiming to impress you Jay Rayner Master Chef types.
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: herthab on Monday, February 8, 2010, 23:27:06 I quite like a maccy d's now and again.
So a load of pricks who spend their evenings on an internet forum don't like them? Big fucking deal. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Arriba on Monday, February 8, 2010, 23:51:08 the breakfasts are nice.i go into the one by tk max now and then if i've dropped the kids off. the service that time of day is very good.
the burgers aint that great, but i do indulge now and then on the odd big mac or 3. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 00:02:11 The breakfasts are good, can't argue with a bacon roll, hash browns and a cuppa. Although I've only had that once, so maybe I got lucky by going to the right McDonalds at the right time!
Generally the burgers look a bit rubbish, I tend to have something with chicken instead which can be hit and miss but always does the job of filling my stomach, which is all I really expect. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 00:16:17 i love a big mac theyre fucking great, get over yourselves
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 00:18:52 I'm feeling hungry after reading this thread again.

Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 05:27:18 Its all about Burger King, McDonalds sucks Donkey dick
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 08:26:56 I ate far too many bacon double cheeseburgers when I was driving too and from Wales. They are brilliant
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Peter Venkman on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 08:56:26 I'm with Batch, their breakfast tastes great when you need some grease to absorb the night before. You're not going to want a full fry up in the car are you? The burgers are little better than cardboard though. I am with you both, the breakfasts, when served freshly made, are good, the burgers and the rest of the day stuff is utter shit. The latte's on the other hand are superb. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: LucienSanchez on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 09:24:19 I dont like McDonalds at all apart from the sausage and egg McMuffin meal and choccy milkshake. Nothing against the principle of fast food though, i love a Bacon Double cheeseburger or Rodeo from BK, and contrary to some opinion, i find the County Ground cheeseburger quite tasty in a cheap and nasty way.
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Saxondale on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 11:00:34 It is dirty but the occasional sausage and egg mcmuffin with a hash brown and large black coffee do find their way into my driving diet!
All nutrition taken out they reappear 2 services later and you know its done no good for you whatsoever. Most unpleasant. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Ginginho on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 11:03:54 Can't beat the odd sausage mcmuffin or big mac every now and then.
I could just go for that right now Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Sippo on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 11:05:42 I remember going to a maccy d's in lithuania at 3am. Can I have a cheeseburger please.
Did they understand? No. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 11:08:23 I remember going to a maccy d's in lithuania at 3am. Can I have a cheeseburger please. Disgraceful. If they'd come over here and asked for it in Lithuanian I'm sure every Maccy D's employee would have known exactly what they wanted!Did they understand? No. I ate far too many bacon double cheeseburgers when I was driving too and from Wales. They are brilliant I have to agree. BK is a million miles better than McDonald's, and the bacon double cheeseburger is the pick of the bunch!Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Sippo on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 11:22:37 Disgraceful. If they'd come over here and asked for it in Lithuanian I'm sure every Maccy D's employee would have known exactly what they wanted! Exactly, how disgraceful! ;) Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 11:36:05 I remember going to a maccy d's in lithuania at 3am. Can I have a cheeseburger please. That suprises me. Every McDonalds I have been to on the continent, the staff have spoken better english than the english staff in McDonalds here.Did they understand? No. anyway my 2ps worth on Mc Donalds. Hashbrowns and chicken nuggets are the only decent thing to eat. How anyone can eat the chips (sorry... fries) in McDonalds is beyond me. Chips in Burger king are much nicer. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Nemo on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 11:38:09 Hashbrowns from Burger King are amazing in the mornings.
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 12:18:54 The McDonalds not apple pies are utter filthy amazingness. I forgot about those
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 12:29:15 burger king microwave their burgers.
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 12:39:56 burger king microwave their burgers. Just to melt the cheese and heat the sauces/toppings etc. I know, I used to work there as a student. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 13:00:36 Im not a massive fan - cant remember the last time I ate one - When I was younger - it was seen a massive treat to got to Mcdonalds - like we would go for someones birthday or something - now its seen as everyday food.
I refuse to take my godsons in there anymore as Harry calls chicken Nuggets "chicken yougurt" and no matter how many time I tell him thats not the right words he tells me Im pronoucing it wrong!! Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Luci on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 13:14:42 I like maccy d's!! Bloody snobbery!
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 13:32:06 I refuse to take my godsons in there anymore as Harry calls chicken Nuggets "chicken yougurt" and no matter how many time I tell him thats not the right words he tells me Im pronoucing it wrong!! Hahaha, ironic. Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 15:55:18 The Bacon Double Cheeseburger I had at the motorway services on the way back from Leeds last season was the best burger I've ever had.
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: sonicyouth on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 16:01:01 i love mcdonalds, mmmmmm
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: STFC_Gazza on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 16:22:11 Maccy D's breakfast is lush!
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Spy on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 16:25:01 I want a McDonalds strawberry milkshake now. Is this thread some kind of viral ad?
Title: Re: McDonald's Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 16:56:36 To my everlasting shame, I once ate in McDonalds...it was predictably crap.
Reasons for not going numerous....and well summed up here, in a bit about the infamous McLibel trial. http://www.mcspotlight.org/case/ My boys were little....and the ex missus, persuaded me that I was inflicting some sort of cultural deprivation on them, by allowing my politics to get in the way of them being normal kids. Not wishing to cause a ruck over something petty, I acquiesced....the thing that most disappointed was the pathetically small portions. |
